How To Find And Unlock Rise Tower Crests In Elden Ring Nightreign

To open the towers of Nightreign in Elden Ring, you’ll need to locate the corresponding crests. However, Nightreign seems uninterested in revealing the exact appearance or method for breaking these crests. It would be beneficial to include at least one tower in your explorations when possible. Breaking through their barrier grants you effortless, boss-free access to a potentially scarce weapon for your collection.

As a seasoned gamer embarking on the Elden Ring journey, here’s my take on finding and unlocking the Nightreign crest:

In my adventure through Elden Ring, I stumbled upon a hidden treasure – the elusive Nightreign crest! Here’s how I discovered it and what challenges I faced along the way. Hope this helps you in your quest too!

How to find and break a crest

On Nightreign’s map, the marked points of interest are referred to as rises, and each expedition contains at least two. These rises are typically situated towards the outskirts of the map, so it’s best to visit them early during the first or second night, prior to the encroachment of the rain circle. (Our dedicated guide can assist you in determining the optimal starting point for Nightreign.) The second level of each rise is sealed off by a magical impediment, which provides a message instructing you to locate a crest.

Crests are light blue circles containing mysterious symbols, and they can be found in various spots around rises. When a rise is near a pond, the crest will usually float on the water’s surface. In other cases, the crests might be concealed beneath bushes or trees, but you can identify them by observing if a particular plant is swaying in the wind – this could indicate the presence of a hidden crest. Essentially, search for the tree or shrub that appears to be dancing in the breeze to locate the crest.

To pass through a wave’s peak, position yourself within it, then execute a roll maneuver. You’ll notice a cracking sound, and a notification will appear for every player indicating the wave crest has been opened.

In specific instances, a rise might not exhibit its typical peaked shape. Instead, the device is tethered to a stone golem positioned before the rise. Interact with the book the golem holds to shatter the seal. On one occasion, there was a crest concealed within a moving tree trunk. Aim at the tree and attack it to cause it to disappear in a cloud of smoke, thereby releasing the rise.

In very unusual situations, there appears to be no peak at all in the rise, leaving us unsure if this is a glitch or the peak is extraordinarily camouflaged. If you encounter such a case where you can’t find an opening, simply skip it and focus your efforts elsewhere instead.

As I crack open the lock on the tower rise, I step into an empty room with only a scaffold standing tall. Climbing up the makeshift stairs, I leap onto the balcony and ascend the real ones leading to the top chamber. The air is thick with anticipation as I rummage through the loot, often discovering a common item, but more frequently, I stumble upon a scarce weapon, sometimes even a legendary one. There’s no rune as a reward, but given how swiftly I can unlock a rise and snag its goodies, it’s always smart to spend an extra minute or two scouring for something that might just bolster my current gameplay strategy.
