This is an immersive management simulation game, but it can rapidly feel complex and challenging unless you’re well-prepared. Fortunately, the game provides means to simplify the management process, albeit in a unique way – by focusing on managing people instead.

You have the option to employ diverse staff members for handling your assorted illicit ventures, thereby allowing you more time to concentrate on expanding your sales or discovering additional business partners. Although it may appear straightforward, there are subtleties involved in how these employees function in actuality.

This manual provides step-by-step instructions for acquiring and managing new employees, enabling you to devote more time to sales instead of production processes.

How to Hire Employees

To employ workers, you first must advance to Hoodlum V and unlock the Warehouse. If your character is progressing at a good pace, this shouldn’t pose much of a challenge.

After gaining entry to the warehouse, make your way up the stairs and find Manny. He will provide you with a basic overview and enable you to recruit workers.

In your organization, you can choose from four distinct types of workers, each with unique responsibilities tailored for the role they will perform. Identifying the right one for your needs and placing them strategically will ensure the efficient operation of your business endeavor.

  • Cleaners – A live-in maid. They’ll clean up the premises.
  • Botanists – These people are all about the chronic; they’ll keep your plants growing and replace them when needed.
  • Handler – They can move items from one place to another and package items using your packing table.
  • Chemist – They’ll handle all your mixing stations, lab ovens, chemistry stations, and cauldrons.

Every item comes with both an initial fee and a daily charge. It is essential to note that each item can be allocated to only one of your owned locations, so be mindful when designating their destinations.

Employee Costs
Cleaners $900 hiring fee & $100 per day
Botanists $1,500 hiring fee & $200 per day
Handler $1,500 hiring fee & $200 per day
Chemist $2,000 hiring fee & $300 per day

You cannot change where employees are located after the fact, so make sure you choose wisely.

How Do Employees Work?

Every employee exhibits slight variations in their work styles, yet they share several common traits. To keep them productive, it’s essential to provide daily compensation and, if applicable, a place for them to rest.

Additionally, you’ll have to allocate your team members to distinct stations across the premises using the Management Clipboard, which we’ll place on your keyboard shortcut bar. This way, you can manage which employees work at different stations and decide where items from each station should be relocated.

After placing their beds and designating some workstations for them, they ought to start working promptly. If for some reason they fail to do so, they’ll find themselves standing outside, giving you an opportunity to inquire about their non-work status and rectify any problems that might arise.

Each day, you can deposit money into the suitcase on your bed for each team member. The suitcase allows for a maximum of $1,000 per compartment, so distribute the amount of cash you have over as many days as possible.

For each employee, we’ll discuss their unique characteristics and responsibilities, as well as any potential issues that may arise to ensure smooth operation and productivity.

Cleaners

Even though they may not significantly enhance your overall business, they will help in keeping unwanted waste at bay. It would be beneficial to delegate their tasks to the trash cans strategically placed throughout the designated clean area.

The individuals in question will collect the trash but won’t bother with bags; feel free to handle the bagging at your convenience. While these may not be your ideal hires initially, they could still offer some assistance if you’re looking for additional income.

Botanists

Just as the name suggests, these workers devote all their attention to nurturing vegetation. They are skilled at sowing seeds, watering, and reaping the harvest of any marijuana plants assigned to them.

If your storage shelf contains essentials for plant growth like fertilizers, soil, or seeds, these items will be used as needed. You can take care of up to eight plants simultaneously, but it’s crucial to keep a close eye on their progress to prevent things from becoming unmanageable quickly.

Each pot is adjustable individually, allowing you to grow a specific type of plant or direct its yield separately. This feature makes it convenient for maintaining an organized collection of different plant strains.

Handler

For a smooth transition, they will take care of packing and transporting goods from one location to another. It might be beneficial to assign a dedicated Handler for each product category in your production line.

It’s quite probable that you’ll have a greater number of Handlers compared to other entities, due to their ability to also prepare the product. You may assign them a total of five different transportation tasks and provide them with a designated packing area for convenience.

This particular employee is quite intricate in operation, so it’s advisable to experiment with it a bit to gain a clearer mental image of its functioning. It can be utilized effectively for maintaining an ample supply of materials at mixing stations or any other commercial entities. Additionally, it can transport stocked goods to different shelves.

You’ll need to set up a route, which I’ll outline here:

  • Use the clipboard to select your Handler.
  • Go to the routes section and add a new route.
  • Choose a shelf or other station.
  • Drag the line to whatever output spot you’d like.

When the current location reaches its maximum capacity, you’ll have to either switch to a new location or rearrange items from the overcrowded one to accommodate additional routes.

Chemist

Without a doubt, hiring this individual could prove to be one of your crucial decisions. Their primary role would be handling our mixing stations, lab ovens, cauldrons, and chemistry workstations, where they will create the diverse range of products we require.

In this arrangement, you can direct the flow of the product by setting the output location for each station based on what follows next in the sequence. Here’s an example for a chemical lab setup: Each station’s output destination is the next one in line.

  • Chemistry Station → Lab Oven
  • Lab Oven → Mixing Station
  • Mixing Station → Packaging Station

This process takes the item from one stage to another in the production line, ultimately leading to the final product you desire. It simplifies the creation process, whether you’re marketing the product or attending to other tasks.

Since chemists don’t manage inventory, it’s best to rely on Handlers to ensure your workstations are consistently stocked with necessary items, maintaining the smooth flow of the production process.

Once you’ve successfully established your criminal organization and it’s all set for action, delegate most of the grunt work to your team members. This way, you can revel in the thrill of maneuvering through town while overseeing the operation of what could be the world’s top-tier criminal enterprise without the hassle and complexity that usually come with managing such a venture.
