In the new game titled “Elden Ring: Nightreign,” the Elden Ring engine and its resources are utilized to offer an entirely fresh adventure within the realm of Limveld. This game emphasizes cooperative gameplay significantly, yet for those who prefer a solo journey, there are options to enhance the visual aspect of the game.
By default, the game comes with a rather bothersome sharpening effect that can’t be turned off within the game itself. Fortunately, you can eliminate this filter by using a mod developed by huutaiii.
Disable Sharpening Filter in Elden Ring Nightreign
Just as with the chromatic aberration mod by huutaiii, playing Elden Ring: Nightreign in offline mode is necessary because it demands that EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat) be deactivated. With EAC turned off, the game won’t connect to the servers at all.
With that in mind, if you’re playing solo, follow the steps below:
- Head over to the following Patreon link.
- Download the following files by clicking on them under “Attachments”
- steam_appid.txt
- DisableSharpenFilter.7z
- NIGHTREIGN-ModLoader-v0.11.0-Release.7z
Disable EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat)
Since you are modding the game, online play will be disabled for this mod to work.
- Head over to where Elden Ring: Nightreign is installed.
- Place the steam_appid.txt in this folder (ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN/Game), .
- Now, open Steam, right-click on Elden Ring Nightreign in your library, and select Properties.
- In the General tab, add the following command under
cmd /c start nightreign.exe & rem %command%
- It should look like this:
Once EAC has been disabled, we can install the mod file.
Install Mod Loader
Next, need to install the mod loader.
- Extract the NIGHTREIGN-ModLoader-v0.11.0-Release.7z file into the Game folder.
Install Chromatic Aberration Mod
Finally, you can install the mod to disable chromatic aberration in Elden Ring: Nightreign.
- Extract the DisableSharpenFilter.7z file into the Game folder.
To get rid of the sharpening filter in Elden Ring: Nightreign while playing offline, simply follow these steps. The credit for this modification goes to huutaiii. To reiterate, ensure you select the mod for playing Elden Ring: Nightreign exclusively in offline gameplay.
Removing the Mod
To turn off the mod, you can easily do this by deleting the files that came along with it, and removing the command used to launch it on Steam.
