Anticipation for Season 3 of “Solo Leveling” is sky-high across anime fans, following the explosive ending of season 2. Fans eagerly await its arrival and hope it lives up to the brilliance of the previous seasons. One of the show’s producers may be hinting at a 2026 release date, which is much sooner than initially projected.
Solo Leveling Might Come Out in 2026 After All
Sota Could Be Hinting at an Early 2026 Release
The anime series “Solo Leveling” has become incredibly popular in recent times, boasting extraordinary viewing figures that are hard to believe. Few predicted its success on such a grand scale, but it has far surpassed all expectations and broken records.
Despite its exceptional quality, it seems that Solo Leveling requires a certain amount of time for production in each season. The initial season premiered back in 2024, and season 2 concluded not long after in 2025. Ever since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting news about when season 3 will be released. However, the updates on this matter have been somewhat unclear, with some suggesting that we may have to wait until 2028 – a full three years following the second season’s end.
Sota Furahashi, a producer for the popular series Solo Leveling, has shared his thoughts on the subject. In a recent comment, he expressed a desire for Season 3 to align with the Summer Olympics of 2028. However, it’s important to note that this is simply his preference. The actual release date for Season 3 ultimately depends on Kaneko, the other producer, along with A-1 Pictures. Here’s what he actually said:
“Regarding Solo Leveling Season 3, I personally hope it will coincide with the 2028 Summer Olympics. But remember, this is just my opinion. The final decision rests with Kaneko and A-1 Pictures.
“I’m really looking forward to Season 3! However, it might take some time as there were around 220,000 animation frames produced between Seasons 1 and 2. Since I don’t have control over the production process, I’d suggest we wait until the next Olympics for updates about Season 3. But ultimately, that decision lies with Kaneko and A-1 Pictures.”
In his discussion about the upcoming events, Sota might refer to both the 2028 Olympics and a potential release date for Season 3 as early as 2026. Interestingly, the Winter Olympics in 2026 bear a striking resemblance to the previous release dates of Seasons 1 and 2 of the anime series. The Winter Olympics are scheduled for February 2026, which makes it an ideal timeframe for eager fans who can’t wait until 2028.
Should the anime be released prior to 2028, I, an observer, can attest that fans harbor a shared expectation: they yearn for the quality not to be sacrificed. This is particularly crucial to Sota, who underscores the extensive effort required to bring the Solo Leveling anime to life.
When Will Solo Leveling Season 3 Drop?
There Is No Confirmed Release Date Yet
As for now, there’s no confirmed air date for Season 3 of “Solo Leveling”. Since Season 2 just wrapped up its run, we’ll have to wait a bit longer before the anime resumes. In the interim, enthusiasts of “Solo Leveling” can catch up on the first two seasons, comprising a total of 25 episodes. These seasons are now streaming on Crunchyroll. Any future installments of “Solo Leveling” will also be accessible through Crunchyroll.
