In this particular game I played through Steam, my save file was kept within the App DataLocal folder, specifically named as filech2_0. If you have more than one save file, it’s essential to note that filech2_1 represents the second save in the game, while filech2_2 stands for the third save, and so forth.
Once you locate this particular file, you have two options: either delete it if you wish to discard your progress, or transfer it to a different drive or system if you want to preserve your game save for Chapters 3, 4, and beyond. A crucial point to keep in mind when moving your save file to a new system is to ensure that you restore it to the exact same location (file path). Placing it anywhere on your computer won’t achieve the desired result.

Regrettably, Deltarune lacks an autosave feature, meaning it’s essential to utilize the save points when they appear in the game. Deltarune‘s intricate plot can be quite bewildering, making it more challenging for those unfamiliar with Undertale. Not being able to save at will can become aggravating for players who wish to take a break but haven’t encountered another save point in some time.
As a gamer, I absolutely appreciate the convenience of having numerous save points in this game. It allows me to revisit earlier stages to uncover hidden bosses or paths, or even try out unique gaming experiences like a pacifist playthrough or exploring the strange route for an entirely new experience!
