In my experience as a player delving into the captivating realms of Deltarune, I’ve encountered distinctive characters and uncovered intriguing items, such as the radiant artifacts known as Glowshards. If you’ve made it through the game’s opening chapters, chances are you’ve gathered a few of these luminescent trinkets yourself. As I gather these items, I often find myself pondering their purpose in the enigmatic world of Deltarune – what exactly do Glowshards serve?
How To Use Glowshards in Deltarune

In simpler terms, Glowshards are luminescent items discovered within enigmatic realms known as the Dark Worlds. One common purpose for these Glowshards is to exchange them at Seam’s shop.
In the first chapter of the game Deltarune, you can trade a Glowshard for a decent amount of 100 Dark Dollars (D$). This can be handy for making early-game purchases. But the game suggests that the value of a Glowshard might rise to 150 Dark Dollars in later chapters. So, keeping your Glowshards until later in the game could potentially bring you more profit.
In addition, the Glowshard possesses an exclusive, albeit restricted, combat function in Chapter 1. During encounters with Rudinn foes, you can directly pull out a Glowshard from your stockpile to either “Spare” or “Pacify” them instantly. This action promptly concludes the skirmish without the necessity of engaging in battle or suffering their assaults.
If you use the Glowshard in battle, it will disappear on use.
Although using this method can swiftly resolve a Rudinn conflict without violence, it’s generally regarded as a limited application since Rudinns aren’t particularly difficult to manage, and other efficient methods for calming them abound. This diminishes the significance of the Glowshard’s role in combat.
As a dedicated fan of Deltarune, I can’t help but speculate about the potential significance of Glowshards in the game’s future installments. Given their enigmatic nature and the fact that the story is yet to be fully unveiled, there’s a widespread belief that these items might hold a key role in the grand narrative. If possible, it seems wiser to keep these Glowshards, as they could very well be pieces of a larger, intricate puzzle that will only reveal itself as more chapters unfold.
How To Get More Glowshards in Deltarune
Currently, Glowshards are only discoverable as pre-set items in certain spots within the Dark Worlds. The initial Glowshard you’ll come across is hidden in the early Underground region of Chapter 1, just after you enter the Dark World with Susie and before reaching Castle Town.
In Deltarune’s Chapter 2, you can discover another Glowshard within Queen’s Mansion, tucked away in a particular room. Be sure to meticulously investigate every nook and cranny of the Dark World in each chapter for Glowshards.
