Chronicles: Medieval Announced With Massive Medieval Battles

Geoff Keighley and Summer Game Fest are well-acquainted with debuts, and that’s exactly what we experienced today.

As a passionate admirer, I can confidently say that Raw Power Games’ inaugural creation, Chronicles: Medieval, leaves no stone unturned in exhibiting its grand scale.

In the advertising for Chronicles: Medieval, it’s emphasized that Tom Hardy narrates this expansive, lively medieval game. Here, you can design your unique character and embark on an epic journey, where you’ll battle for territory, honor, and enduring fame.

A brief scene shown in the trailer suggests that players will have the opportunity to control massive armies and engage in epic battles reminiscent of those found in the Total War series.

Here’s an official description straight from the game’s Discord.

In Chronicles: Medieval, you’re immersed in an expansive, ever-changing sandbox set in a harsh yet captivating medieval European landscape. Start from humble beginnings with only determination as your weapon. Earn recognition through skirmishes, battles on the field, and sieges; each fight propels you closer to power. Construct castles, defend them against those who wish to destroy, and assert dominance on the battlefield using brutal melee tactics, strategic equipment choices, and tactical adjustments to overcome any challenge thrown your way. Craft your own legacy in a vibrant, active world where every choice reverberates throughout history, and each swing of the sword could alter your path.

Chronicles: Medieval Is The Debut Game From Raw Power Games

Located in Copenhagen, Denmark, Raw Power Games is a globally staffed game development studio that was established in 2022 with complete funding.

What’s particularly noteworthy is their extensive team of over 100 senior developers, who have contributed to critically acclaimed games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Cyberpunk 2077, HITMAN, Total War, Grand Theft Auto, and others. Notably, composer Adam Skorupa, renowned for his work on The Witcher series, is part of this development team as well.

To begin with, Kieghley pointed out at the outset of the program how smaller production studios are increasingly standing alone instead of collaborating with big publishing houses. Given the triumph of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, it seems likely this independent movement will persist.

2026 is when Chronicles: Medieval will be available on Steam Early Access, and we’ll check if it maintains the pattern of success that it has been setting.
