In the game Dune: Awakening , player advancement encompasses investigating technology, manufacturing equipment, and accomplishing story missions. The Trials of Aql belong to the latter group, serving as significant stepping stones in the player’s expedition across Arrakis. Besides moving the story forward, they also grant access to essential technologies and abilities that you can utilize, making them indispensable.
In the game, players will be guided towards the initial test, however, regarding the Second Trial of Aql, each individual must navigate independently. The journey of exploration is crucial in Dune: Awakening, but for those aiming to quickly complete this segment, here’s a guide outlining the necessary destinations and actions.
Dune: Awakening – Second Trial of Aql Location
In the heart of Eastern Vermillius Gap lies a secretive Moisture Cave named The Deep Struggle, where the Second Trial of Aql resides. Unlike other trials marked in orange, this one stands out as purple. To locate it, venture into the cliffs and keep an eye for the marker; you may need to climb the walls to reach its concealed entrance. Once found, break through the seal and journey through the subterranean tunnels, for the trial altar is buried far beneath the surface.
The Second Trial of Aql
As a fan, I find that the second trial follows a clear, straight path from beginning to end, just like the first one. Instead of needing to avoid detection, the Second Trial of Aql equips you with a Static Compactor, which can be used to handle environmental hazards and generate platforms for navigation.
There isn’t much more to discuss here. Just stick to the trail, utilize your Static Compactor to remove any hindrances, and carry on until you reach the finish line. Once the trial is over, you’ll awaken once again at the Deep Struggle, granting you the freedom to venture wherever you desire within Vermillius Gap.
Rewards
Completing the second trial of Aql in the game Dune: Awakening will grant you access to the Static Compactor Blueprint. This tool is useful for gathering Flour Sand and Spice, as it groups them together, making collection easier for players. Gathered Flour Sand is essential for crafting Silicone Blocks, which are necessary for constructing early game equipment and upgrading gear, including various Unique items.
Players need not rush completing the Second Trial of Aql, since:
1. Flour Sand can be manually collected from patches of white sand.
2. Many enemies and storage containers within Vermillius Gap also drop Flour Sand.
3. Acquiring the Static Compactor would streamline the process significantly, but if you prefer enhancing your equipment, heading north to gather Carbon Ore for Steel creation might be more beneficial instead.
In the questline known as ‘Find the Fremen’, a total of five challenges called Trials of Aql are found, each one granting Spice-related items or abilities upon completion. It’s beneficial to aim for all of them, as they unlock key gameplay mechanics when combined.
