As players progress through Assassin’s Creed Shadows, they will face more challenging opponents along their journey. To prevail against these tough foes, players must regularly improve their equipment. While your character’s fundamental abilities naturally enhance as you advance in levels, the level of your gear remains constant. Consequently, it is essential to continually upgrade your gear to maintain a level of strength equal to that of your character for success in demanding combat situations.

How to Upgrade Weapons & Equipment in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Players can improve their gear by heading to Heiji, the Blacksmith located within the Hideout’s Forge building. Once there, simply chat with him and he’ll open his shop. From there, you can navigate to the upgrade menu, where you can pick out your weapons and equipment for enhancement.

To advance your equipment to your present level, you’ll primarily need Iron Sand, Silk, and Mon. In case any of your armor or weapons are significantly lower in level, you have the option to immediately upgrade them all at once to match your current level directly.

Before players can enhance their gear in “AC Shadows”, it’s essential to bring Heiji, the blacksmith, onto your team first. Let’s explore the steps for this recruitment.

Where to Find Heiji the Blacksmith in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

In the early missions of “Assassin’s Creed Shadows”, players can enlist the help of Heiji, the blacksmith. To find him, players should journey to Sakai Village and move towards the eastern part beyond the port area. There, they will encounter a group of bullies harassing an individual. Once these hooligans are dealt with, speak to the man who turns out to be none other than Heiji, the blacksmith.

Following my chat with Heiji, I managed to persuade him to join our mission. With that settled, it’s time for me to make a quick jump to the Hideout to advance this quest of ours.

Build a Forge in the Hideout

Following their arrival at the Hideout, Naoe must switch to Build mode and construct a Forge structure. Upon completion of the Forge, a scene will unfold displaying Naoe and Heiji conversing with Tomiko.

After the scene has finished playing, the Ways of the Blacksmith quest will be marked as accomplished. Now, you can effortlessly move towards the Forge and converse with Heiji, who is more than willing to enhance all your equipment. Remember to gather enough crafting materials so that you can efficiently upgrade your gear in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
