Forget the Nightlords, Finding This One Mob Might Be Elden Ring Nightreign’s Toughest Challenge Yet

In a fresh twist on the classic Soulsborne gameplay, Elden Ring Nightreign incorporates multiplayer roguelike aspects into its design. Unlike Elden Ring, in which players could easily find sought-after items in fixed locations, Nightreign offers rare treasures after extensive playtime and numerous adventures.

In Elden Ring, the scarcity and probability of obtaining items or encountering enemies are heavily influenced by a system called Random Number Generation (RNG). Items that were effortlessly found in Elden Ring may not be as easily discovered in Elden Ring Nightreign, and one particular mob from the original title serves as proof of this change.

The Walking Mausoleum is harder to find than the Nightlords in Elden Ring Nightreign

If you’ve ever come across a colossal structure moving on four limbs within Elden Ring, that would be referred to as the Walking Mausoleums. These structures don’t typically go unnoticed since it’s unlikely one would casually overlook a building strolling around on four legs.

In the game Elden Ring Nightreign, similar entities can be encountered in Limveld, but they appear exceptionally rarely and are quite elusive. It’s likely that you’ll defeat Heolstor before encountering these mobs, which speaks volumes about their scarcity.

As a gamer, I’d put it like this: In the original Elden Ring, the Walking Mausoleums were unique spots where I could replicate Boss Soul Memories at the altar. However, these mausoleums needed to be destroyed by smashing the skull-like deposits on their legs before I could do so.

In realms such as Limgrave or Liurnia of the Lakes, there were many of these creatures, but you won’t encounter even a small number of them in Elden Ring Nightreign unless the RNG gods favor you. A user named DutchDolt found their first Walking Mausoleum in Limveld only after playing for an impressive 70 hours.

This suggests an extraordinary scarcity that these mobs hold within them. In Elden Ring Nightreign, their role stays consistent, implying that any weapons, including Legendary ones, can be replicated at the Mausoleum altars. However, locating them is the most challenging task, and some might prefer facing the Bell Bearing Hunter unarmed than encountering these foes in the game.

In the game, a red circle on the map signifies both raids and enemy remembrances, including the Walking Mausoleums. Therefore, if you spot a red circle during your exploration, remember that it’s usually a raid rather than a Walking Mausoleum.

In a similar manner to unexpected Shifting Earth occurrences, there are unpredictable events in Elden Ring Nightreign that may happen as soon as you begin playing. It’s best to cross your fingers and hope for favor from the Random Number Generation (RNG) deities.
