- A Pokemon fan’s 3D printed Luxury Ball faithfully recreates the design from Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
- Reddit user Nabahe602 also printed other Poke Balls, turning some into Game Boy cartridge cases.
As a dedicated Pokémon fan, I took it upon myself to bring the exquisite Luxury Ball from Pokémon Legends: Arceus into reality using 3D printing. With its unique design and significance in the vast Pokémon universe, each Poke Ball has a special role – capturing specific types or levels of Pokémon as I venture to fill my very own Pokedex. The Luxury Ball, introduced in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, is truly exceptional due to its ability to increase the Friendship stat of captured Pokémon. This makes it an essential tool for trainers seeking friendship-based evolutions such as Espeon and Umbreon.
Since the third generation, Luxury Balls have been a common item in all mainline Pokémon games. They’ve even made appearances in some Pokémon anime episodes and movies. For instance, in an episode of Pokémon Horizons, viewers got a peek inside a Luxury Ball where a Quaxly seemed to be sipping on an orange drink, lounging in a fancy relaxation area. In the 2022 spin-off game, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Luxury Balls were among the many Poke Balls available, featuring vintage designs of the popular monster-catching containers for the Hisui region.
Reddit user Nabahe602 has replicated several distinctive Poke Balls from the Pokemon franchise using their 3D printer, including the latest Hisuian versions seen in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. They recently posted a picture of their 3D-printed Hisuian Luxury Ball on r/pokemon, which accurately represents the ball’s black exterior, elegant gold accents, and the clasp resembling a latch that was later replaced by a more modern design in the Pokemon series as it progressed.
3D-Printed Pokemon Luxury Ball Combines Antique With Elegance
Nabahe602 has not only produced additional replicas of Pokemon Legends: Arceus Poke Balls, but also variations like the basic wooden Poke Ball, advanced Great Ball, and heavy balls that are more effective with larger Pokemon. Their non-Arceus creations encompass water-centric Dive Balls, Beast Balls for Ultra Beasts, and even the mysterious Clone Ball, which Mewtwo used in the original Pokemon film to capture and replicate opponents. Interestingly, many of these designs serve dual purposes as cases for Game Boy Advance game cartridges. It’s worth mentioning that Nabahe602 had paused 3D printing Poke Balls before they started working on the Pokemon Legends: Arceus collection.

In each fresh installment of the Pokemon game, there’s an opportunity to unveil additional Poke Ball designs, similar to the way new Pokemon are introduced. This continuous expansion of Poke Ball types provides Nabahe602 with ample inspiration for future 3D printing projects involving items from the vast Pokemon franchise.
