Monster Hunter Wilds’ Title Update Will Add DLSS 4, New Support Hunters, and More

On June 30th, the much-anticipated update, titled “Monster Hunter Wilds‘ Update 2,” will officially debut across all platforms following an early release on PlayStation. This update introduces Lagriacus and Seregios as new creatures to hunt, while also allowing players to take on enhanced versions of these monsters called “Tempered” versions.

Based on the updates, achieving the additional missions and advancing to Rank 41 or above will grant access to the Tempered Lagiacrus and Tempered Seregios. Additionally, Arch Tempered Utha Duna is planned for a future event quest, though it will only be available temporarily.

With Title Update 2, you’ll find several significant new features. For instance, Tempered Monsters will now roam in groups, two fresh Support Hunters join the crew, and you can opt for Erik as your Handler instead of Alma. Additionally, you’ll have the long-awaited ability to choose which Support Hunters accompany you on quests. Furthermore, Capcom is incorporating Nvidia DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 4. Notably, the former includes Multi Frame Generation technology.

As a dedicated enthusiast, I’ve discovered an intriguing aspect: Frame Generation can be independently tweaked from Upscaling! This separation seems to have reduced VRAM usage significantly, yet I’m a bit disappointed to find that other anticipated performance enhancements appear to be absent. For more comprehensive insights, I invite you to explore the patch notes below and delve deeper into the full details here.

– Hunter and Palico layered weapons have been added.

As a gamer, I’m thrilled to announce that the beta variants of the Hunter Armor are now available in my Layered Armor settings! If I’ve previously unlocked any alpha versions, I’ll automatically receive their beta counterparts too. It’s like getting a bonus, isn’t it?

– Added new backgrounds, poses, nameplates, and titles to hunter profiles.

– I’ve introduced two new Support Hunters: Mina, armed with a Sword and Shield, and Fabius, wielding a Lance. You can recruit them for quests once you finish the main mission “A Hunter’s Pride.” Note that Fabius will only be accessible during a special seasonal event for a limited time.

As a gamer, I’ve just implemented a cool new option at the Quest Counter. Now, when I send out an SOS flare, I can personally choose which of my Support Hunter friends will join me in the quest!

Additionally, Erik’s and Gemma’s outfits can also be changed for the occasion.

– In addition to the existing features of Barrel Bowling, it now includes extra prize spots and special event configurations. During special occasions, Barrel Bowling Bombs function distinctly compared to regular large barrel bombs, offering an engaging twist.

Or, more concisely:

Barrel Bowling offers additional prize locations and unique seasonal event setups, with seasonal bomb explosions differing from regular ones, adding a new level of challenge.

– Two new types of time-limited bounties, specifically “Assistance for Marine Research: Fishing” and “Assistance for Marine Research: Endemic Species,” have been introduced.

– New ranking categories have been added (fish, endemic life).

– Implemented an automatic Armor Sphere selection during armor upgrade at the Smithy, this also transforms any leftover upgrade points into Armor Spheres.
