As a dedicated Elden Ring Nightreign gamer, I couldn’t help but chuckle at the irony when they announced they were fixing a bug in that pesky boss fight against the enhanced Everdark Sovereign Sentient Pest. Seems like the game was giving some of us a run for our money! The good news is, they’re promising a quick solution to this glitch, and it looks like we’ll get to enjoy smooth gameplay once again starting July 4th, perfect timing for a weekend full of adventuring!
Regrettably, this situation requires us to temporarily halt the servers for necessary repairs. Consequently, gameplay will be unavailable during this server maintenance period, scheduled to begin at 4 a.m. EST/1 a.m. PT. The dedicated gamers of Elden Ring Nightreign have been commending the developers for their swift action, as it seems this issue has impacted a substantial number of players.
Nightfarers,
We’ve discovered an issue in #ELDENRING #NIGHTREIGN, specifically during the Everdark Sovereign Sentient Pest battle, which could prevent Expeditions from being finished due to a bug.
In order to resolve this problem, we will be releasing a partial temporary fix on July 4th.

The newly introduced boss battle, a special limited-time mission, is an enhanced variant of the existing Sentient Pest Nightlord, known as Wisdom of Night (Gnoster). Players can engage with this upgraded version until July 9th. In comparison to its previous iterations, such as the Everdark Sovereigns, the Wisdom of Night has an extra phase in the battle. Despite this new addition, it remains vulnerable to fire, allowing some previous strategies to still be effective against this enhanced version.
During the excitement for the expedition challenge in Elden Ring Nightrein, some gamers encountered an issue due to a bug that made the boss virtually unbeatable, potentially causing gameplay to freeze or softlock. It appears that a troublesome flying red bug known as Animus, Ascendent Light, which appears during a later stage of combat, simply vanishes and becomes invincible to players’ attacks. Some users reported that after using its possession ability, Animus failed to spawn correctly for them.
User Shakaruine on Reddit mentioned that they encountered an issue where Animus failed to appear following the elimination of Faurtis. They attempted a run, and their team successfully killed Gnoster and Faurtis who was possessed by Animus. However, after killing Faurtis, there was no sign of Animus. Instead, Revenant’s pets were seen attacking something around Faurtis’ body.

Other gamers boasted about finishing the boss battle even with the glitch, claiming that determined players could find and defeat the boss if it hadn’t strayed too far. However, some users reported various problems with the fight, but many of these complaints centered around their inability to kill an enemy that vanished before they could complete the mission.
Players couldn’t help but find humor in the irony when the creators of Elden Ring introduced a buggy boss, riddled with its own glitches. Jokes and cleverly crafted puns were plentiful among commenters and fans, aiming to bring a laugh amidst the technical issues.
of course there’s a bug, that’s who we’re fighting!

Others took delight in supporting the boss, as they recognized he was using the same tactic that Elden Ring players are notorious for, providing a chance for them to applaud.
Reddit user CeliacPhiliac stated that an opponent attacked him outside the play area, mirroring his Dark Souls approach in which he waits securely in a position and gradually eliminates the enemy using arrows.”
Or more casually:
“CeliacPhiliac mentioned that his opponent came at him from out of bounds, just like his strategy in Dark Souls where he hangs back safely and whittles down the enemy with arrows.
Some Elden Ring Nightreign players are enjoying the switch as they experience being on the receiving end, but the payback against Gnoster and Animus in the next update will undoubtedly be even more satisfying once the developers roll out the fix.
