Destiny 2: Xur Exotic Armor, Weapon, and Recommendations for July 4

Xur, the enigmatic merchant, is back in Destiny 2, offering fresh exotic and legendary items for players to explore temporarily. With Episode Heresy nearing its end, Bungie is steadily unveiling new content and updates that will be available when The Edge of Fate expansion releases for Destiny 2.

This week’s blog post centered around Weapon Balancing along with other points, as Bungie’s sandbox team unveiled significant adjustments for certain weapons in Destiny 2. For instance, the Hierarchy of Needs exotic bow from the Spire of the Watcher dungeon will offer more adaptability, allowing any ally wielding a bow to activate the Guidance Ring feature. Additionally, exotics like Tommy’s Matchbook, The Navigator, Worldline Zero, and others are receiving enhancements.

For now, the weekend vendor Xur has returned to offer fresh equipment for Destiny 2 enthusiasts. Here’s where you can find him this week, updates on his exotic cipher quest, and a rundown of all the exotic and legendary items he’s stocked up for the July 4, 2025 weekend.

Where is Xur?

Now that Xur has settled permanently within The Tower’s bustling Bazaar, I no longer have to embark on weekly quests to find him! It’s a relief not to worry about tracking down my favorite vendor anymore on weekends.

Since the Marketplace is situated midway between two quick travel spots, players have the freedom to choose either one as their entry point. Make your way to the spot where Ikora and Hawthorne are usually found, then scan for the Ramen Shop positioned against the back wall. With the shop facing you, the alley, where Xur can be found, is located to your right side.

Destiny 2 Class Armor and Exotic Cipher

Every week, Xur carries on providing the customary quests, exotics, and top-tier gear. These tasks are essential for purchasing an additional fated engram and obtaining legacy exotic equipment from the Tower’s kiosk. Players can obtain a fresh cipher by completing strikes or winning Crucible or Gambit matches. Earn extra points by teaming up with clan members or tackling more difficult activities.

Xur Inventory Items

In Destiny 2’s Year 7, Xur’s inventory has been enhanced with a genuine rank-based progression system, offering rewards and customization options. Additionally, Xur now offers more than just weapons and armor in his stock, including various additional items.

Xur’s Exotic Weapons

Here is what Xur has this weekend for exotic weapons:

Hawkmoon – Hand Cannon

  • – Final blows and precision hits with Hawkmoon grant stacks of Paracausal Charge. The final round in the magazine deals bonus damage based on the number of stacks. Stowing Hawkmoon on the final round removes this bonus.

Arbalest – Linear Fusion Rifle

  • – Fires slugs that cause massive damage to combatant shields. Strong against Barrier Champions.
  • – Breaking an enemy’s shield with this weapon makes them more vulnerable to Kinetic damage for a brief period.

Hard Light – Auto Rifle

  • – Rounds fired from this weapon have reduced damage falloff, overpenetrate targets, and ricochet off hard surfaces. Projectile damage increases after bounce.
  • – Holding reload changes this weapon’s damage type, cycling between Solar, Arc, and Void. Grants different stats based on your selected damage type.

The Queenbreaker – Linear Fusion Rifle

  • – Hold reload to swap between scopes and alter this weapon’s firing behavior.
  • – Increases accuracy, stability, and precision hit targeting when firing from the hip.

Choir of One – Auto Rifle (Recommended!)

  • Command Frame – Fires extended-range, heavy-caliber projectiles at a reduced rate of fire. Deals increased precision damage when aiming down sights.
  • Fanatical Lance – Rapid final blows cause targets to explode into a pool of radiolarian fluid. Hip firing launches multiple projectiles at once in a slower moving spread pattern. Projectiles detonate on impact.
