Capcom Nixes Tone Deaf Conference on Monster Hunter Wilds Optimisation

As a gaming enthusiast diving into Monster Hunter World: Iceborne on my trusty PlayStation 5, I’ve got to admit that the experience isn’t always as seamless as I’d like it to be. So, when I heard Capcom was hosting an optimization seminar for video games, I found myself scratching my head a bit, thinking, “Is this really necessary for a game that could use some polish in the performance department?

It’s important to note that the Japanese publisher has produced some exceptional software in the past, indicating a wealth of knowledge in the field. However, their recent action RPG game has received an overwhelming number of unfavorable reviews on Steam, largely due to poor performance.

It seems reasonable that the publisher took the right decision to cancel the previously mentioned talk, according to Automaton’s report.

The meeting is set for the Computer Entertainment Developers Conference, which is happening towards the end of this month.

Regrettably, the feedback from fans has been exceptionally severe, leading the company to publish a clarification about their stance on harassment and related matters.

The letter reads, as translated from Japanese:

We value the feedback and suggestions from our customers because they help us enhance our products and services. However, we’ve encountered cases where our executives and staff have been subjected to defamatory comments, insults, bullying, threats, and harassment via customer service channels, social media, and game sales review sites. We do not tolerate such behavior.

It’s clear that, according to the company, this step goes too far. While it’s fine to voice concerns about a product and express a desire for its improvement, making threats or being abusive towards employees is unacceptable under any circumstances.

It’s plausible that the two recent events could be connected, as Capcom hasn’t provided a clear explanation for cancelling their seminar.

As enthusiasts of Monster Hunter World, we eagerly anticipate that the publisher will keep refining the game and provide the level of optimization we believe they are capable of delivering.

How do you feel about the game title since its launch a few weeks ago? Are you happy with its performance, or do you believe further improvements are necessary? Share your thoughts on getting the best armor in the comment section.
