Kirito serves as a constant figure, anchoring most of the narrative. Although it doesn’t quite reach the level of Fate in terms of action sequences, these moments can be thrilling at times, and the game worlds are intriguing. The storyline also undergoes minimal changes, and some might even argue that it improves during the Alicization season. I find myself thoroughly enamored with the protagonist, Makoto, who manages to maintain his charm without overshadowing the other captivating characters. The narrative flows at a satisfying pace, keeping me engaged from start to finish!

In this fictional universe, you may find yourself drawn to observe a strong protagonist, known as Cid, who lives out an extraordinary life, often characterized by chunibyo-like tendencies. However, I found season 2 to be noticeably better than the first and even the third; in fact, season 3 can feel quite exhausting for much of its run, but it does start to pick up pace towards the end of its 21 episodes.

Regardless of certain aspects that might extend longer than necessary or lean more towards action rather than humor and school antics, I’d still label Iruma-kun as consistently entertaining due to its unwavering fun factor. The series boasts a robust and diverse cast of characters, many of whom are charming, particularly the main trio, making it an overall delightful watch.

For those new to this, the story of “Iruma-kun” revolves around a human character who gets adopted by a demon and transported to the realm of demons. Here, he’s compelled to attend school while concealing his human identity due to the fact that demons consume humans, which is quite unfavorable for Iruma. Eventually, he manages to make some companions and begins enjoying life to the fullest.

The anime Ascendance of a Bookworm brilliantly portrays Myne’s fragility and her unyielding spirit, while showcasing those around her who either assist or attempt to manipulate her. Her transformation over the seasons is nothing short of intriguing.

Whenever the concept of isekai crosses my mind, it’s this captivating series that immediately springs to life, even though it may not top my list of all-time favorites.

In the widely admired category of OP MC (Original Powerful Main Character), no other character has excelled or endured as impressively as Rimuru, who has evolved from a humble slime into a Demon Lord capable of matching strength with some of the most powerful beings in this cosmos over the course of more than 70 episodes. He has established a realm that ensures the well-being of its denizens, and while they aim for cooperation with their neighbors, they are prepared to assert dominance if necessary. Although season 3 might delve too deeply into boardroom discussions at times, TenSura consistently proves itself to be “good,” often surpassing that standard.

The Slime Diaries” is the perfect finishing touch to this delightful ice cream Sundae. This slice-of-life spin-off offers a glimpse into the daily routines of Tempest’s inhabitants, making it feel like an enriching addition to the primary storyline (even though it largely consists of light-hearted content).

2. Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation

Over the past few years, I’ve noticed that Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation has become a staple in the isekai genre, with opinions on it ranging from “best” to “most infuriating.” This series follows the story of Rudeus, a man who squandered his previous life but finds himself reborn in a fantasy world, where almost everything seems to be working in his favor. Despite this fresh start, Rudeus still has much maturing to do and is reluctant to let go of some of his less endearing characteristics.

Absolutely, I can understand why someone might abandon “Mushoku Tensei” if they find Rudy hard to take. He’s not exactly a charming character, especially in the early seasons. However, Studio Bind should be commended for consistently delivering high-quality content even amidst seasons filled with challenges and unexpected changes, such as an entire arc set in a school with minimal action. “Mushoku Tensei” is undeniably one of the most daring isekai anime ever made, and it deserves recognition for its bold choices.

Re:Zero is exceptional, but it may not appeal to everyone. If this anime doesn’t resonate with someone, they might end up disliking it strongly. On the other hand, if you find yourself drawn to Re:Zero, chances are, you’ll grow quite fond of it. New viewers should give this show a chance, as no other isekai anime offers a unique mix of psychological horror, self-reflection, brutal action scenes, gradual suspense, dark humor, and innovative storytelling elements.

In a nutshell, the three seasons of “Re:Zero” stand out as unique from one another, with seasons 2 and 3 presenting contrasting narratives almost like opposites on a spectrum.
