In the game “Pokemon Sword & Shield”, Rookidee was the initial Flying-type Pokemon that players encountered at the start of the game. However, while Rookidee and its evolutionary forms had been available in “Pokemon GO” since January 2025’s “Steeled Resolve” event, it wasn’t until the “Ultra Unlock: Steel and Scales” event in July 2025 that Shiny Rookidee/Corvisquire/Corviknight were officially released. From July 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. to July 27, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time, there will be an increased spawn of Rookidee in “Pokemon GO”. During this event, it’s recommended that you try and catch one or more Shiny Rookidees.

You might find Axew and Goomy less frequently, but they are encountered more often than typical statistical averages suggest.
During normal circumstances, since Rookidee is a Flying-type Pokémon, it tends to appear more frequently when the wind is blowing. However, during the “Ultra Unlock” event, you can expect to encounter Rookidee regardless of the weather conditions. It’s important to note that Rookidee is not a 1-star Raid Pokémon during this special event.
If your goal is to catch a Shiny Rookidee, it might serve you better to move around instead of standing still in hopes that it will show up. To enhance the probability of Rookidee appearing, consider placing a Lure Module on a nearby PokeStop or using Incense. Keep in mind that only the standard, purple Lure Module attracts Flying-type Rookidees; other types like Moss, Glacial, Magnet, and Rainy Lure Modules will not work for this purpose.
Additionally, you might find it beneficial to activate the AR (Augmented Reality) Mode during your Shiny Hunting. This eliminates the screen loading time associated with the “Capture/Encounter Screen,” resulting in a faster viewing experience of the Pokemon.
If you can’t catch Shiny Rookidee during the “Ultra Unlock” event, don’t fret! Since Shiny Rookidee has made its appearance in Pokemon GO, you’ll have the chance to capture it even after the event. However, keep in mind that the frequency of encountering a Shiny Rookidee outside the event depends on various factors like weather conditions. This means it might be more challenging to find a Shiny Rookidee in regular gameplay compared to during the “Ultra Unlock: Steel and Scales.

How to Get Shiny Corvisquire and Shiny Corviknight
To transform your Shiny Rookidee into a Shiny Corvisquire, gather 25 pieces of Rookidee Candy. If you wish to evolve your Shiny Corvisquire into a Shiny Corviknight, prepare 100 Rookidee Candy instead. Keep in mind that catching plenty of Rookidee is key for accumulating the necessary Candy for both evolutions. Unfortunately, “Ultra Unlock: Steel and Scales” doesn’t boost the Candy yield, but you can use Pinap or Silver Pinap Berries to enhance the amount of Candy you receive from catching Rookidee.
To register the Shiny forms of Corvisquire and Corviknight in your Pokedex, you need to evolve Shiny Rookidee. But if you intend to use Shiny Corviknight for competitive battles against Team GO Rocket or defending gyms, it’s recommended to evolve a higher-star version (3-star or even a 2-star with high Defense), as opposed to a lower one (0/1-star). Achieving a 3-star Shiny is largely dependent on luck, but it can be done.
