A devoted Pokemon enthusiast posted some sketch ideas on social media of a hypothetical Wooloo evolution, inspired by the saying “a wolf in sheep’s clothing.” The talented Pokemon fan artist detailed the potential evolutionary process for their Wooloo concept, which caught the attention and praise from other fans who admired both their creativity and craftsmanship.
In the world of Pokemon, Wooloo – dubbed as the Sheep Pokemon – made its debut in Pokemon Sword and Shield, one of the initial Normal-type creatures trainers come across in the Galar region. Notable for its fluffy white fur and round, sphere-like form, Wooloo can roll through grassy meadows to escape danger. This has led smaller Pokemon like Pikachu to use Wooloo as a cozy bed because of its soft wool and friendly disposition. At level 24 in Pokemon Sword and Shield, Wooloo transforms into Dubwool. Although it’s gained quite the following, Wooloo remains unique to Pokemon GO and the eighth mainline game generation.
It’s worth mentioning that while Wooloo and Dubwool aren’t the most formidable Normal-type Pokémon, an enthusiastic fan artist has imagined a new evolutionary form for the Sheep Pokémon. On the r/Pokemon subreddit, a user named DivineandDeadlyAngel posted a hand-drawn concept of a Pokémon they called Woolupe, a dual-type Normal and Ghost evolution of Wooloo. The design of Woolupe is inspired by the phrase “a wolf in sheep’s clothing,” often used to describe cunning predators that blend among their prey. Similar to its Wooloo predecessor, Woolupe has a white wool coat and brown fur on its body. However, it also features an extended body with red claws, bright yellow eyes, and several pointed teeth. Compared to Wooloo, Woolupe is significantly larger, whether standing or sitting. In addition, Woolupe was depicted using a howling attack, which enables its eerie gaze to penetrate through its wool and spot its prey.
Pokemon Fan Artist Creates Wolf-Like Wooloo Evolution Concept
To transform a Wooloo into a Woolupe, DivineandDeadlyAngel employed an intricate Pokemon evolution technique requiring three specific conditions. First, the Wooloo needed to have a low happiness level. Second, it had to learn a Ghost-type attack. Lastly, the Wooloo had to faint in battle, causing it to transform into a Woolupe. In the games Pokemon Sword and Shield, friendship-based evolutions like Snom and Frosmoth are still relevant, but at present, Wooloo cannot learn any Ghost-type attacks. We’ll have to wait and see if this will be altered in future Pokemon games.

Z-A in October, it remains unclear whether and when Wooloo or Dubwool might reappear in the franchise.
