In the updated Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket Wonder Picks, there’s been an enhancement that ensures more Ex Pokemon cards will show up in Rare Packs. As of now, there are over 200 Ex Pokemon cards to gather from Pokemon TCG Pocket, and this improvement in pull rates is expected to benefit dedicated collectors who are striving to accumulate as many rare cards as possible.
In the Pokemon TCG Pocket game, Wonder Picks serve as a method for players to obtain additional cards without needing to open booster packs. Each Wonder Pick offers a selection of cards based on their rarity, with the pool of available cards influenced by what other players have pulled, including both friends and random players in the game. The amount of Stamina required to claim a Wonder Pick depends on the rarity of the cards it contains; common cards can be claimed for 1 Stamina, while Picks with basic rares require 2 Stamina, and Rare Picks featuring full arts or ex Pokemon will cost at least 3 Stamina.
As a devoted Pokémon TCG Pocket gamer, I’m excited to share that, according to Reddit user INDIGO, the developers at DeNA have made an awesome update to the Wonder Picks for this July! Previously, Rare Picks only contained a single EX card each, making it tough for players like me to amass those powerful Pokémon. However, starting from October 2024 when the game launched, this has all changed! The July Mass Outbreak event now ensures TWO unique EX cards in every Rare Pick, significantly boosting our chances of expanding our collection. Although some players have already experienced multiple EX cards in Rare Picks during past events like the June 2025 Mass Outbreak, the July event marks the first time Wonder Picks have guaranteed this exciting feature! Let’s catch ’em all, fellow trainers!
Pokemon TCG Pocket Increases EX Card Pulls in Rare Picks
Although the boost in card draw rates for past rares in Rare Picks is an improvement, it doesn’t ensure that players won’t get duplicates of the same Pokemon repeatedly. At present, Pokemon TCG Pocket lacks a mercy or strict system to prevent this repetition of identical cards. Given that Rare Packs require three Stamina points to open, free-to-play collectors might continue to struggle in completing their decks.
There’s a possibility that changes in the rates of obtaining items in the game could be coming, given that a Pokémon TCG Pocket reveal is anticipated during the July 22nd Pokemon Presents. This presentation is whispered to feature a sneak peek at a forthcoming set for the mobile game. If this rumored new set does indeed contain more Ex cards for Pokémon TCG Pocket, players might want to hold onto their Stamina so they can redeem as many Rare Picks as possible when the opportunity arises.
