In the latest update, it’s been made public who will be lending their voices to Peach and Toad in Mario Kart World from now on. Actors Paul Castro Jr. (Toad) and Courtney Lin (Peach) have stepped forward to confirm their new roles and express gratitude towards Nintendo for the opportunity. This announcement comes after it was previously announced in June 2025 that Samantha Kelly, the former voice actor for Peach and Toad in Mario Kart World, would no longer be voicing these beloved characters.
The star debut title for the freshly launched Switch 2 is Mario Kart World, where Nintendo has reinvented and expanded the popular racing franchise into an open-world escapade. This game offers modes such as Knockout Tour, a race style similar to battle royale with checkpoints and eliminations, and Free Roam, allowing players to traverse the map to accomplish missions and more. In addition, players can still enjoy classic modes like Grand Prix and Time Trial, now enriched with new mechanics. Despite being one of the most eagerly awaited games on Nintendo’s latest console and receiving positive feedback, fans of Mario Kart World have expressed concerns about certain gameplay elements and were saddened to discover that a familiar character would no longer be part of the series.
Samantha Kelly, the 18-year-old voice actress who gave life to Peach and Toad in Mario Kart World, was informed that her role would be taken over. The identity of the new actors stepping into these iconic characters had been kept under wraps by Nintendo until recently. Now, Paul Castro Jr., known for voicing ‘mini’ Vegeta in Dragon Ball DAIMA, and Courtney Lin have shared on their Twitter accounts that they will be taking over the roles of Toad and Peach respectively. Excitedly, Castro expressed gratitude towards Nintendo for entrusting him with Toad’s role, stating it allows him to fulfill a lifelong dream.

Incredulously, she admitted that she’s still finding it hard to believe this opportunity has come her way. Furthermore, she paid tribute to all previous Peach characters and assured fans that she would strive to deliver her best in any future endeavors.
Prior to Castro and Lin, Samantha Kelly was the voice behind these two famous characters in over 70 games spanning Nintendo’s diverse consoles. However, she was unexpectedly informed that she would be replaced on the launch day of Mario Kart World. The actress subsequently expressed her feelings on social media, thanking fans for their support during the 18 years she spent voicing these characters in a mix of joy and sadness.
