As a dedicated gamer diving into Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate, I can’t help but feel the exhilaration coursing through my veins. This game has redefined how armor functions, offering fresh bonuses and stats that demand our attention when crafting the ultimate build and loadout. With a comprehensive revamp of stats in Destiny 2, it’s crucial for us players to grasp the most advantageous stats for PvE content, particularly as we progress towards the endgame.
Gone are the days where Resilience was our savior in battle; now, there’s a whole new league of stats to focus on when it comes to customizing armor stat rolls and mods. So, here are my top recommendations for where to invest, ranked from most useful to least:
1. Recovery – Rapidly regenerate your shields during intense combat situations.
2. Mobility – Swiftly traverse the battlefield, reaching vantage points and enemies faster.
3. Intellect – Increase the recharge rate of your abilities for tactical superiority.
4. Strength – Boost your melee damage output for a more decisive blow in close-quarters combat.
5. Resilience – Provides additional health, but now has less impact compared to other stats.
1. Weapons
Increase Weapon Damage, Along With Reload and Handling Speed
Weapons Stat | Enhanced Benefits |
---|---|
Reload and Handling (+0-10%) | Large Ammo Brick Chance (+0-100%) |
Damage (+0-15%) | Primary/Special Damage (+0-15%) |
Heavy Weapon Damage (+0-10%) |
- Easily the most useful stat
Investing in Weapon stats is incredibly beneficial for player vs environment (PvE) scenarios. A well-equipped weapon significantly enhances reload speed, handling, and damage output against both minor and major enemies. At a maximum boost of +15%, players will notice the impact of each bullet fired, especially when they decide to further enhance this damage against bosses by going beyond the 100 stat level.
Enhanced Weapon perks offer additional advantages such as a higher likelihood of acquiring extra ammunition from Ammo Brick drops and increased damage for Primary, Special, and Heavy weapons against bosses. This makes Weapons an indispensable asset for endgame activities where every bit of damage counts.
2. Super
Increase Super Energy Gains and Super Damage

Super Stat | Enhanced Benefits |
---|---|
Super Energy (+49-190%) | Damage (+0-45%) |
- Essential for endgame content
– The Super stat is incredibly straightforward yet indispensable in gameplay. By allocating resources towards enhancing the Super stat, players can expect a substantial boost to the rate at which they acquire Super energy from various sources. This implies that they’ll quickly regain their Super through idle time, attacking adversaries, or defeating them.
– The overhaul of Armor 3.0 has made it challenging to consistently secure Supers, with most players managing to activate their Super only once or twice during extended gameplay sessions. However, by focusing entirely on the Super stat for PvE, players will effortlessly trigger their Super at least four to five times, and possibly more.
– Although Supers have always been crucial, the growing challenge for those aiming to surpass the Power limit makes investing in this area more vital than ever before. Essentially, players will almost double the rate at which they accumulate Super energy, and Enhanced Benefits offer a significant damage increase that may not benefit everyone but is certainly useful when deployed with powerful Supers against bosses equipped with wipe mechanics.
3. Class
Increase Class Ability Cooldown, Energy, and Gain Overshield Upon Use

Class Stat | Enhanced Benefits |
---|---|
Class Ability Cooldown (0.85-2.0 Speed Modifier) | Overshield Health (+0-40HP) |
Class Ability Energy (+49-190%) |
- Better for those who enjoy supporting fellow Guardians
For individuals who focus on enhancing their Class stat, they can anticipate a decrease in the cooldown time for their Class abilities, allowing them to utilize Titan Barricades, Hunter Dodge Rolls, and Warlock Rifts at a faster pace compared to players who overlook this attribute. Although Class was previously underrated in Armor 2.0, Bungie has intentionally emphasized its importance in Armor 3.0, as players will gain substantial benefits from using their Class abilities more frequently due to the synergy between weapon perks, Artifact perks, and their Fragments and Aspects. Furthermore, maximizing the Class stat for Enhanced Benefits offers an overshield when activating the Class ability, making it not only a potentially life-saving tool but also providing additional health for combat with reduced risk.
4. Grenade
Increase Grenade Ability Cooldown, Energy, and Damage

Grenade Stat | Enhanced Benefits |
---|---|
Grenade Ability Cooldown (0.7-3.0 Speed Modifier) | Damage (+0-65%) |
Grenade Ability Energy (+49-190%) |
- Useful for weakening targets and dealing surges of damage
In the ongoing debate about which is superior between Grenade and Melee combat styles, it’s clear that for Armor 3.0, Grenades have a definite edge. Both options provide similar benefits such as shorter ability cooldowns, increased grenade energy, and enhanced damage. However, the advantage of using Grenades becomes evident when you consider that investing in them allows players to throw more grenades than they can handle, which is incredibly useful in end-game situations where players need to keep tossing out grenades with weakness effects, healing abilities, and negative impacts on enemies. Furthermore, additional investment in the Grenade stat significantly boosts its damage output, making it a more attractive choice for many over Melee combat.
5. Melee
Increase Melee Ability Cooldown, Energy, and Damage

Melee Stat | Enhanced Benefits |
---|---|
Melee Ability Cooldown (0.7-3.0 Speed Modifier) | PvE Damage (+0-30%) |
Melee Energy (+49-190%) |
- Best for solo players who like melee builds
Engaging in melee combat always brings excitement since it lets players dash across the battlefield, relying solely on their fists and Glaives for victory. By boosting the Melee stat, players decrease their Melee cooldown and amplify the energy gained from all sources of Melee attacks. This advantage is further intensified, causing more damage to opponents in both PvE and PvP encounters. Nonetheless, in high-level activities where enemies have extensive health pools and deal massive damage, rushing towards them unarmed can be a fatal move.
6. Health
Increase Health Per Orb of Power, Flinch Resistance, and Shields

Health Stat | Enhanced Benefits |
---|---|
Health Per Orb (+0-70 HP) | Shield Recharge Rate (+0-45.6%) |
Flinch Resistance (+0-10%) | Shield Health (+0-20 HP) |
- A stat that’s not worth investing in
Investing in health might not be a smart choice since every player receives an automatic Resilience bonus without any further improvement from increasing Health. The only benefits of increasing Health are that it increases the amount of health gained when collecting an Orb of Power and reduces flinch while shooting, but even these enhanced benefits at 100 stats have minimal impact on Shield Health and recharge rate. As a result, Health is not beneficial in terms of resilience, recovery, or total health. However, it’s essential to maintain around 10 to 20 points in Health so that players can exchange it with Tier 5 armor and ensure they don’t fall below the threshold for health per Orb. In other words, while Health may not be worth investing in, it’s still important to have a decent amount of it to trade and avoid having too little.
