August 5 is Going to Be a Big Day for Final Fantasy 14

Square Enix has officially announced that the much-anticipated update for Final Fantasy 14, titled Patch 7.3: The Promise of Tomorrow, is set to release on Tuesday, August 5. This upcoming content drop for Final Fantasy 14 will mark the conclusion of the Dawntrail storyline and offer new narrative content, as well as exciting additions like chat bubbles that players have been eagerly waiting for. Furthermore, there will be expanded headgear choices for Viera and Hrothgar player characters in this update.

As a dedicated fan, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the upcoming update for Final Fantasy 14, titled The Promise of Tomorrow, which is set to drop over a year after Dawntrail was launched. This climactic patch marks the conclusion of the expansion, offering players a tantalizing peek into what lies ahead for Final Fantasy 14 once the main storyline has been completed.

In typical fashion, the enigmatic Naoki Yoshida, the producer and director of Final Fantasy 14, has remained tight-lipped about the specifics of Patch 7.3 to avoid spoiling the story for us eager players. Alongside the captivating narrative content, this update will also bring some adjustments to the player blacklist feature within the game.

In the 88th episode of the Producer LIVE broadcast on July 24, Yoshida unveiled a trailer for Update 7.3 of Final Fantasy 14, which goes live on August 5 after server maintenance. During the broadcast, Yoshida showed a sneak peek of the upcoming alliance raid, San d’Oria: The Second Walk, featuring a battle against the raid’s first boss, Faithbound Kirin. Additionally, Yoshida provided a glimpse into the new PVP map, Crystaline Conflict, specifically the Bayside Battleground, as well as some of the mounts, glamours, and minions that players can acquire by completing content in Update 7.3. Lastly, he introduced the Vault Oneiron treasure dungeon, which includes a slot machine mechanic determining the enemies and loot for players.

Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.3 Goes Live August 5

As a dedicated gamer in the realm of Final Fantasy 14, I eagerly anticipate the upcoming updates post Patch 7.3. In this next phase, we can look forward to a host of fresh content designed for our enjoyment. The exciting additions in Patch 7.31 will include a new Cosmic Exploration planet and Phantom Relic weapon quests.

Moving onward, Patch 7.35 promises to be a treasure trove for us all. It will introduce Yok Huy crafter quests, a new chapter in the Hildibrand saga, and an engaging deep dungeon called Pilgrim’s Traverse. As teased by Yoshida, Pilgrim’s Traverse is designed as a “deep dungeon for everyone,” featuring adjustments that enable players to conquer it with up to three random allies through the duty finder queue system.

Following our triumph over the new deep dungeon, we can expect a challenging “Quantum” difficulty mode to become available. Similar to its predecessors, Pilgrim’s Traverse will feature procedurally-generated floors and enemies, ensuring a unique challenge every time we venture forth.

As a dedicated Final Fantasy 14 player, I’ve learned that Yoshida announced some changes in our favorite game. The home expansion for players, which would let us adjust the size of our homes, has been delayed to a future date. Guess we’ll see how the community reacts when Dawntrail’s thrilling story update unfolds.
