Repair Kitchen Stoves with the Reinforced Hose in Abiotic Factor

In the game called Abiotic Factor, there are numerous scarce materials and objects for crafting that players must search for to advance through the overrun facility. One challenging item to find initially is the Reinforced Hose, a crucial component in various recipes and necessary for fixing broken Kitchen Stoves. Since cooking plays a significant role throughout Abiotic Factor, many players will be on the hunt for this elusive item. To craft a Reinforced Hose within Abiotic Factor, you’ll require Steel Cable. Here’s how to gather all the essential components to produce this vital material.

How to Craft a Reinforced Hose in Abiotic Factor

Three Key Materials Needed:

Creating Reinforced Hoses in Environmental Conditions, isn’t challenging per se. However, locating the essential component needed for this process, namely Steel Cable, is where the real challenge lies. For instance, you cannot operate the stove in the Kitchen on Level 2 because it needs a Reinforced Hose. Upon exploring the first three levels of the facility, you’ll come to understand that there are no Reinforced Hoses present. Even if you locate a standard Hose, the Reinforced Hose won’t be craftable until you find Steel Cable. Unfortunately, you’ll need to wait some time before you can successfully obtain it.

The three key materials you’ll need to find to craft the Reinforced Hose are:

  • Steel Cable x1
  • Box of Screws x1
  • Hose x1

To craft the Reinforced Hose, you’ll need to use a Powered Crafting Bench.

How to Find a Box of Screws and Hose:

Instead of searching for the Steel Cable, you’ll find it more straightforward to locate the Hose and Box of Screws. You’ll come across some of them on Level 3, but don’t worry about collecting them at this stage because there’s an easier way to acquire them once you reach Manufacturing West. This region will be part of the main storyline, which follows after you successfully complete all three levels of the facility. After opening the cafeteria door in Abiotic Factor, it’ll take approximately two or three significant missions before you’re tasked with reaching Manufacturing West.

Upon arriving at Manufacturing West, keep an eye out for newly labeled wooden crates with distinctive yellow and black stripes. The majority of these crates will hold a “Box of Screws” and a “Hose”. These crates are scattered all over Manufacturing West and are hard to overlook. To access the contents, use a blunt instrument like a table leg to break open the boxes and gather the materials.

How to Get Steel Cable in Abiotic Factor

Loot or Trade:

In earlier parts of Abiotic Factors, Steel Cables are scarcely found. In fact, it seems they don’t exist until you reach the Manufacturing West region. At present, there seem to be two ways to obtain Steel Cables:

1. By luckily stumbling upon a spool hidden somewhere in Manufacturing.
2. By bartering with the Blacksmith.

Currently, we’ve discovered just a single roll of Steel Cable in Manufacturing West. It’s rumored that additional rolls can be uncovered by delving deeper into this region and progressing further within the game. If you urgently need to fix a Kitchen Stove or craft multiple items using Steel Cable, you might have to resort to trading for extra rolls, as they may not be readily available in your immediate surroundings.

Steel Cable Location 1:

The only place we’ve discovered thus far is within the rooms accessible by following the hallway to your right after passing the Garage in Manufacturing West, which can be found by following the signs. Be cautious of armed Terrorists along the way. Exit the garage and you’ll find a long corridor separating it from Shipping. At the end of this corridor, look into the large chamber, and you’ll spot a huge sign that reads “F.O.R.G.E.” – this is where you’ll find the Blacksmith.

If you stand with your back to the Blacksmith and look to your right, you’ll spot a door. Enter that door and follow the hallway it leads to, which ends in a storage room. In this room, there’s an Exor waiting to attack – deal with it first, then explore the chamber. Inside, you’ll come across a solitary spool of Steel Cable resting on a light green crate.

Trading the Blacksmith for Steel Cable:

As you encounter the Blacksmith, you can opt to trade by pressing Y/Triangle. On the inventory list, you will notice Steel Cable is up for grabs. If you’ve managed to locate Military Electronics earlier, you’ll observe that it requires one Military Electronics to obtain one Steel Cable. Should you not have this item yet, a question mark will appear instead. Fortunately, your first Military Electronics is not far away.

Inside the very same room containing the Steel Cable, there’s a compact, army-green radio. Should you manage to destroy it, you’ll obtain Military Electronics (x1). Note that there are multiple such radios scattered across Manufacturing West, so don’t fret about needing to trade this one if you require the Steel Cable.

As an enthusiast, I must admit that military-grade electronics could potentially fall into the wrong hands – like those of terrorists – upon their demise. Yet, such occurrences are exceptionally uncommon. In desperate situations where conventional communication devices like radios have met their end, these items might just be your unlikely saviors.
