In the Dragon Ball Super manga, Frieza returns during the Granola arc, introducing himself in a new form known as “Black Frieza.” This storyline set a high standard for both Goku and Vegeta repeatedly, starting with Granola utilizing the Dragon Balls to become the strongest warrior across the universe. Later, it was Gas’s turn to do the same.

In the final stretch of the storyline, Gas falls, and Frieza makes an entrance, having transformed into his Black Frieza form after rigorous training in realms beyond time and spirit. With an ease that leaves both Goku and Vegeta, who are in their peak forms, breathless, he dispatches them. The upcoming storyline seems to position him as the antagonist for the Z warriors to vanquish. According to the manga, his strength in this form is nearly on par with a God of Destruction, placing him within Beerus’ sphere of power.

In his peak form, he appears almost unbeatable, even when accompanied by Granola, Goku and Vegeta. It takes a powerful attack similar to the Spirit Bomb to seemingly defeat him. However, Gas survives but is swiftly eliminated by Black Frieza, exploiting his weakened, nearly decayed body.

In this particular scenario, he confronts Goku and Vegeta when they’re at their peak strength, and effortlessly overpowers them both. Even with Goku utilizing Mastered Ultra Instinct and Vegeta in his Ultra Ego state, the formidable Cerelean remains unbeaten. However, his might is eventually seized by Gas and later Black Frieza, but Granola continues to rank among the strongest characters within the realm of Dragon Ball universe.

8. Orange Piccolo

Piccolo’s Most Powerful Form Keeps Up With The Saiyans

In Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, both Piccolo and Gohan undergo significant power-ups while fighting Cell Max. Even when Goku activates his Mastered Ultra Instinct form, Jiren manages to hold his own or is nearly equal to him in strength. Although some characters from the later storylines are stronger, Jiren is still among the most powerful mortals in the Dragon Ball universe.
