WUCHANG Patch 1.3 fixes crashes, bugs, and missing rewards after rocky launch

The initial update for Fallen Feathers was quickly released, focusing on improving performance issues, readjusting the difficulty of boss battles, and fixing the problematic reward system following its bumpy debut.

3 Update for WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers rectifies significant problems that occurred during the game’s debut, such as random crashes, incomplete downloadable content, and a perceived imbalance in difficulty level. This update was released within 24 hours of the game’s initial launch.

On its release day, the action RPG game created by Chinese studio Leenzee drew in over 120,000 players simultaneously, a remarkable achievement. However, technical issues during launch caused a flurry of unfavorable reviews on Steam. Additionally, players found the boss battles challenging and complained about the inconsistent hit boxes, which were problem areas.

Rocky launch leads to negative reviews

In an attempt to make amends, developer Leenzee generously provided all players with the WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers Original Soundtrack as a free DLC. Regrettably, this gesture might not have been enough, given that within the first 48 hours, 70% of the 45,000 Steam reviews were negative. It seems like a challenging debut for the new developer, but history shows that even titles like Cyberpunk 2077 managed to recover from rocky starts.

On the initial release, performance problems were the most frequently mentioned concerns, but developer Leenzee aims to address this with the modifications in Patch 1.3 for WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, hoping it will enhance stability, minimize crashes, and reduce stuttering that might occur due to low video memory.

  • Low Latency Mode is now a manual toggle in the Options menu. It will no longer be enabled by default. 
  • Supersampling resolution limits have been adjusted on select GPU models to prevent unintended performance degradation. 
  • VRAM optimization for lower-end GPUs: 
  • For GPUs with 8GB or less VRAM, memory-saving optimization is now applied across all texture quality levels. 
  • For GPUs with more than 8GB VRAM, this optimization applies only when texture quality is set to Low. 

WUCHANG Patch 1.3 Balance Adjustments

In Patch 1.3 of the game WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, the placement and effectiveness of landmine traps in Chapter 2 have been adjusted for fairer gameplay. Previously, if you had progressed to Chapter 2, there was a high chance of encountering an unfortunate situation involving these traps.

As an enthusiastic supporter, I’m thrilled about the recent update from Developer Leenzee. Not only have they lessened the destructive impact of landmines in this update, but they’ve also decreased their quantity to ensure a more balanced and enjoyable challenge. Bravo! However, what I’m really hoping for in the next patch is a bit of a Honglan adjustment to keep things fair and engaging.

  • Reduced landmine damage
  • Adjusted the Shrine location in the Burning Cavern of Worship’s Rise in Ruins (Chapter 4)
  • Fixed the issue where the Nightmare Demon could occasionally fail to transition to the second battle phase
  • Fixed abnormal multi-playthrough stats for certain jade pendants.

Deluxe Rewards fixed in Patch 1.3

If you’re among the gamers who didn’t receive their pre-order or Deluxe Edition rewards following the patch update in WUCHANG: Falled Feathers, rest assured that these rewards will now be granted to you in Patch 1.3. Here’s how to claim your pre-order goodies in WUCHANG:

1. Log into your game account.
2. Navigate to the in-game store or rewards section.
3. Look for a special offer or notification related to your pre-order rewards.
4. Follow the instructions provided to claim your rewards.

  • Fixed issues related to both the Standard Edition and Deluxe Edition – after the patch update, players of both versions will receive the correct content rewards. Players who have already purchased the Deluxe Edition package will need to log in again and claim the reward at the donation box located in Reverent Temple. 
  • All WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers Steam owners will receive the Original Soundtrack DLC for free as compensation. 

Bug Fixes & Stability Improvements 

  • Fixed a crash that could occur immediately after the company logo during game startup. 
  • Resolved execution stutter affecting select hardware configurations during finisher animations.
