Dragon Ball: Goku Is Strong, But This Character Has the Potential to Surpass Him

This write-up may reveal plot twists from the series Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Super, and possibly additional Dragon Ball content.

The popular anime show Dragon Ball Super remains on a break for now, yet fans eagerly anticipate its comeback in the next year, kicking off the highly anticipated Black Frieza storyline. With Goku and Vegeta achieving new heights of power, everyone is buzzing with excitement to find out what unfolds next.

Yet, a character from the Dragon Ball Super series exhibits incredible promise for surpassing any strength we’ve encountered so far. Though it seems unlikely that they will take center stage in the manga, it’d be intriguing to delve deeper into their backstory and power growth.

Goku Is At His Peak With Ultra Instinct

In simpler terms, some fans think that Ultra Instinct is the strongest form Goku has achieved so far, leading them to question if it would be logical for him to reveal another transformation that surpasses it. Instead, these fans prefer to see Goku enhancing his skills within Ultra Instinct, as he did with Perfected Ultra Instinct and True Ultra Instinct, rather than unlocking a completely new form.

With Ultra Instinct, Goku has the ability to compete with the Gods of Destruction, even though he’s not strong enough to beat the most powerful among them. He can maintain a fairly balanced fight for some time, indicating there’s much potential and many aspects of Ultra Instinct yet to be fully understood. However, given it’s Dragon Ball we’re discussing, further advancements are expected, possibly in the form of fusions rather than new transformations, considering Dragon Ball Super has already introduced a variety of forms.

Other Z-Fighters Are At the Same Level As Goku

In the tale of Dragon Ball Super, it sometimes isn’t clear who outmatches whom, resulting in heated debates among fans regarding power levels. However, as per Toyotaro, Ultra Instinct Goku, Ultra Ego Vegeta, Beast Gohan, Orange Piccolo, and Legendary Super Saiyan Broly are all on par in terms of their immense strength. Yet, hints suggest that none of them would be able to overcome Black Frieza, whose power level is said to be beyond measurement (as per V-JUMP).

Pan.

Pan Could Become the Strongest Saiyan

  • Pan shows immense potential, learning to fly when she was still a baby.
  • Unlike Gohan, Pan seems to be into training and fighting.

In the world of Dragon Ball Super, Pan is remarkably young, having just turned three at the conclusion of the latest story arc. However, this youthfulness doesn’t dim her potential as a warrior. For example, she mastered the art of flight while still an infant – a skill that Gohan didn’t acquire until he was five, and even Trunks and Goten were older when they learned it.

I’m gonna train too, Grandpa. I want to be big and strong like you, and save the world too!

— Pan

In my observation, once upon a time, Toriyama mentioned that Gohan holds the title of the strongest man in the cosmos. Yet, his potential remains untapped due to his disinterest in combat; initially, he was seen as feeble and afraid during his childhood years. Interestingly, Pan, his daughter, appears to possess greater potential than what Gohan demonstrated at her age, and she seems endowed with a warrior spirit that could be attributed to her Saiyan lineage (though she is only a quarter Saiyan). This suggests that Pan might have the capacity to emerge as the strongest Saiyan in existence, given her immense hidden potential and willingness to train and harness her power. As Gohan’s offspring, there’s a possibility that Pan could one day unlock Beast, considering this transformation is linked to Gohan’s unique abilities. Therefore, it would be quite fitting if the granddaughter of Mr. Satan ultimately claimed the title of the universe’s most formidable warrior, according to Toriyama’s style.

Could Pan Still Show Her Potential in Dragon Ball Super?

Name Pan
Featured in Dragon Ball Z, DBGT, DB Super
Current Age (DBS) 3 (at the end of Super Hero Saga)
Age at the End of Z 10

In Dragon Ball Super, although Pan appears to be an intriguing character, it seems unlikely that she will take on a pivotal role in the storyline at this point, given her young age. It’s rather unusual for someone as young as Pan to display divine forms or abilities of such magnitude. As Dragon Ball Super unfolds between the end of the Buu Saga and the Peaceful World Saga (or Uub Saga), Pan is only about 10 years old, which makes it less plausible that she would possess such advanced skills at this stage in the storyline.

During this period, she could potentially unleash transformations similar to Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, Super Saiyan 3, and possibly even Super Saiyan 4 or Ultimate. There’s a chance that Pan might take a path resembling Broly’s, awakening the Legendary Super Saiyan. However, equaling Goku’s power is unlikely. It seems more probable that Goten and Trunks will play crucial roles in upcoming arcs, given their ability to fuse traditionally. Pan may engage in battles with powerful adversaries, but she won’t face off against Gods of Destruction or Black Frieza. Yet, her past actions warrant further exploration in the story, and possibly in future series or spin-offs.

Dragon Ball Super is available to read on MANGA Plus, in English and Spanish.
