A player of “The Sims 4” has spent several days attempting to eliminate a character they found bothersome enough for such dedication, named Alex Moyer. Despite their unsuccessful attempt, they discovered an intriguing aspect about the game: certain Non-Player Characters (NPCs) within “The Sims 4” are immortal.
Alex Moyer is a pre-existing character in the game’s tutorial who debuted as part of Update 73 in November 2018. In terms of age, she belongs to the Young Adult category within The Sims 4 and is marked as being almost an adult, with only 27 days remaining. Interestingly, Moyer doesn’t grow older and remains perpetually on her second day of adulthood. Additionally, she possesses the unique traits of eternal youth and invincibility.
As a devoted Sims 4 enthusiast myself, just recently I found myself engrossed in an unusual predicament. Unbeknownst to me, I had invested countless days attempting to eliminate a specific character within the game. My efforts ranged from drowning her to starving her, yet success remained elusive. In a moment of exasperation, I took to social media to voice my discontent. “I’ve been trying to drown her for days,” I lamented, further explaining my attempts at other methods.
My post struck a chord on the r/TheSims subreddit in late July 2025, leading fellow fans to express curiosity over who this elusive target was. Upon revealing that my antagonist was none other than Alex Moyer, I was enlightened with the fact that she is, inexplicably, invincible.
It’s Possible to Kill Alex Moyer in The Sims 4, But Not Without a Sacrifice
In The Sims game, characters labeled as immortal cannot die naturally. However, you can effectively “kill” them by activating cheat codes using the command “testingCheats true”. Once activated, click on a character like Alex Moyer and use the command “traits.remove_trait SpecialNPC_isFTUERoommate” to change her status from immortal to mortal. This action makes her vulnerable to all forms of in-game death. However, using cheats will disable achievements. On PC, you can bypass this limitation with the use of certain mods.
The Sims 4 Has Fates Worse Than Death
Despite the fact that Alex Moyer is indestructible without bending the rules, there are fates even more dreadful than death. Over time, players of The Sims 4 have shared some rather sinister experiments involving this invincible character, such as moving her in with the intention of having her serve as a maid. In a now-deleted Reddit post from 2022, one player revealed their plan to make her into a servant in the basement who is only a painting. Although they didn’t carry out this plan, it wasn’t unusual, since other fans had previously exploited Moyer’s immortality as a consistent means of earning extra income in The Sims 4.
In Maxis’s popular game “The Sims 4,” Alex Moyer isn’t the sole character endowed with immortality. Characters like Baby Ariel, all babysitters, buskers, butlers, Jasmine Holiday (a challenge coordinator), and even Mr. Reaper are also immune to death. These characters were introduced at different times in the game, with Jasmine appearing in March 2016 and being accessible during specific events now.
