How to Complete the Military Legacy Path in Civilization 7’s Age of Exploration

In Civilization 7, Legacy Paths have been added as central missions for the game, serving as crucial steps to unlocking the various victory methods available. For each era, you can access one Legacy Path corresponding to these strategies: Military, Economic, Scientific, Cultural. Finishing these quests grants you advantages in later eras (or, in the Modern Age, moves you significantly closer to achieving one of the game’s victory types.)

In the world of Civilization 7 during the Age of Exploration, I find myself embarking on the Military Legacy Path known as Non Sufficit Orbis. This journey challenges me to expand my territory beyond the known lands and conquer distant settlements to score points. The twist? Conquered settlements that adopt my religion not only double in value but triple if they follow my faith. This means I have to strategically claim key positions, be bold in my conquests, and spread my beliefs to maximize my points and secure a spot in the limited territory of the Distant Lands.

How to Complete Non Sufficit Orbis in Civilization 7

To finish Non Sufficit Orbis, you must accumulate 12 points by establishing or taking over settlements in Faraway Regions. This might seem challenging, but you’ll receive twice as many points if you conquer a settlement, or if the settlement shares your faith. These bonus effects are cumulative, which means that spreading your faith and bolstering your military (particularly your navy) is essential for success. In fact, controlling just three conquered settlements that share your religion would immediately meet the requirements. For instance, having control over three such settlements would instantly complete the task.

In simpler terms, having specific Religious Beliefs, particularly Millenarianism, will greatly boost your score in this context. If Millenarianism isn’t available as an optional belief, opt for Conversion instead. This way, you can establish and strengthen your own settlements with the correct faith, and later spread it to the settlements you intend to capture.

In the challenge of colonizing distant lands known as Non Sufficit Orbis, it’s crucial to emphasize the significance of naval forces due to the nature of these territories being composed of numerous islands surrounded by vast bodies of water. A majority of the settlements established in such areas are coastal, making naval units indispensable for conquering them. To maximize your chances, focus on developing technologies (such as Cartography, Astronomy, and Shipbuilding) and civics that will boost your navy’s capabilities and facilitate smoother movement across water when traversing the distant lands.
