Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Treasure Hunt Event Should Be The Spark That Ignites A Wildfire

2025 marked an eventful year for Disney Dreamlight Valley, with returning events receiving fresh content and three entirely new events making their debut: Lucky You, Cheshire Cat Chaos, and more recently, Treasure Hunt. The latter, inspired by Peter Pan’s arrival in the Valley, stands out as a significant improvement thanks to its reduced grinding and login requirements, setting a promising standard for future events in similar games.

Previous New Events In 2025 Required Heavy Commitment

The Lucky You and Cheshire Cat Chaos events for Disney Dreamlight Valley were quite challenging for players due to their labor-intensive nature and the frequent login requirements. Lucky You involved gathering Clovers, with Four-Leaf Clovers appearing infrequently, making it difficult to obtain or craft rewards. The Cheshire Cat Chaos event was especially tough as players needed to log in almost daily during the event if they wanted a chance at earning rewards.

During the Cheshire Cat Chaos event in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players were tasked with a series of challenges. They hunted for Cheshire Cat footprints across different Disney and Pixar-themed Realms, with the locations changing every few days. Inside the Valley, they gathered Memory Orbs to construct an image of the Cat causing trouble. The complete Memory needed ten parts, but players often received duplicate Orbs, making it difficult to collect all pieces. To earn all the Cat’s rewards, participants had to log in frequently during the two-week event.

The Treasure Hunt Event Is A Relief For Players Frustrated By The Grind

In contrast to the intricate puzzles of the Cheshire Cat’s game, Peter Pan’s Treasure Hunt is a more streamlined two-week adventure where players search for hidden Orbs in the Valley. Unlike its complex predecessor, this Memory consists of just four parts. A recent update to Disney Dreamlight Valley has significantly reduced the likelihood of players finding duplicate Memory Orbs within the game. Moreover, the golden cracks that signal the locations of the Memory Orbs are bright and noticeable compared to the darker pink cracks used by the Cheshire Cat.

During the Treasure Hunt event, participants must log in at least four times within the span of two weeks, as each day yields only one fragment of the treasure map’s Memory. Compared to events like Lucky You and Cheshire Cat Chaos, this requirement is less demanding since it allows for more flexibility in logging in, even if you miss a day or two of playtime without severe consequences. Moreover, players will receive a modest reward upon collecting two out of the four Memory Orbs, unlike past events where all rewards were tied to completing extensive tasks.

The Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Treasure Hunt Event could be a great template for future events in this game and others alike. Unlike some events that create a sense of fear of missing out (FOMO) or require daily logging, this event is flexible and offers minimal grind. Yet, it presents an engaging unique mechanic and attractive rewards. Given Disney Dreamlight Valley’s emphasis on events in 2025 and beyond, developer Gameloft might benefit from following the Treasure Hunt model rather than the demanding Cheshire Cat Chaos approach. With Peter Pan now part of the Valley, there is potential for regular mini treasure hunts to gather a range of cool exclusive rewards.
