Blizzard has rolled out two innovative methods to monitor information within the game Overwatch 2: Hero Stats, a web platform displaying player statistics, and the Enhanced Info Panel, an upgrade to the in-game interface offering comprehensive details about hero abilities. These new additions will become accessible to all gamers soon, with the Advanced Info Panel scheduled for introduction during Season 18 of Overwatch 2.
Recently, Overwatch 2 shared a Director’s Insight that delved into the concept of learning and exploration in live-service games. In this post, Overwatch 2 associate director Alec Dawson explained the delicate balance the developers strive for: offering information to fans while preserving the “exploration phase” – the timeframe when the community is still deciphering things after the introduction of a significant gameplay adjustment, new character, or other influential elements like Perks or Stadiums.
Towards the conclusion of his blog post, Dawson discussed two upcoming features designed to aid players in monitoring data within and beyond Overwatch 2. The first feature is named Hero Stats, which will be a dedicated section on Blizzard’s official website as part of Battle.net. With this tool, fans can access win rates, pick rates, and detailed statistics used by the Overwatch 2 team to make balance adjustments. As shown in a placeholder image, players will have the ability to sort this data by role, game mode, map, region, and even input mode to gain insights into how each hero ranks against one another across multiple factors.
Overwatch 2 Hero Stats and Advanced Info Panel

- Hero Stats
- External website featuring hero win rates, pick rates, etc.
- Sort categories for roll, game mode, map, region, and input mode
- Advanced Info Panel
- Detailed information about hero weapons and abilities in game
- Coming in Season 18
As a passionate player, I’m thrilled about the second exciting feature – the Advanced Info Panel. This game-integrated panel will offer an in-depth analysis of a hero’s abilities, providing details like the falloff range of Cassidy’s Peacekeeper in Overwatch 2 or the precise headshot damage of Hanzo’s Storm Bow. Blizzard has shown us these specific examples to give us a taste of what’s to come!

At the moment, we don’t have an specific date set for when the Hero Stats website will launch. But, the Advanced Info Panel feature is scheduled to debut as part of Season 18, which is anticipated to begin on August 26. This suggests that players might get more information about this feature in the coming weeks and may even see it in action soon.
There’s more than what’s already been announced for Overwatch 2 Season 18. Recently, Blizzard unveiled Ultraviolet Sentinel Sojourn as the upcoming Mythic skin for this season, and they plan to reveal Wuyang’s full kit, the new support hero, within the coming weeks. It certainly seems like Overwatch 2 has an exciting lineup in store for us in the near future.
