Here’s Why ZKscam (ZKSync Scam) Is Trending Among Crypto Investors

As a long-time crypto investor, I’ve seen my fair share of exciting and disappointing projects. And the recent turn of events surrounding ZKSync has left a sour taste in the mouths of many in the community. While I understand the reasoning behind their strict eligibility criteria for the ZK airdrop, I cannot help but feel disappointed by the exclusion of so many dedicated users.

ZKSync is a well-known Layer 2 solution that delivers faster and superior transactions compared to other networks, including Ethereum. Previously, ZKSync announced details about its ZK airdrop, which has since generated significant buzz amongst crypto investors. However, some users have expressed their dissatisfaction with the network by renaming it as ZKscam or ZKSync Scam.

In this blog, let us discuss the story behind the ZKscam/ ZKSync Scam.

How ZK Airdrop Turned ZKscam?

On June 11th, ZKSync unveiled its anticipated ZK token airdrop to its sizable community of 7 million users. This long-awaited event marks the launch of the ZK rollup-powered network’s unique distribution mechanism. In contrast to typical airdrops, only approximately 695,232 wallets will be eligible to receive the tokens. Eligibility is contingent upon meeting stringent criteria which include engaging with at least ten Smart Contract platforms, conducting trades involving ten distinct ERC 20 tokens, and maintaining an extended interaction with the network.

Here’s Why ZKscam (ZKSync Scam) Is Trending Among Crypto Investors

Despite the large community size of 7 million individuals, only a small number are able to partake in this airdrop. Consequently, many feel deceived by the network and label it as the “ZKscam.”

ZKscam (ZKSync Scam) Trends On X

As a crypto investor, I’ve noticed that many in our community have taken to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to voice their displeasure using the hashtags #ZKscam and #ZKSyncScam. These tags have been widely used for days, with thousands of tweets expressing their frustration over what they perceive as an unfair situation.

A user expressed his frustration over not being selected for an airdrop despite meeting all eligibility criteria and having executed over $100,000 worth of trades on the network. He added that he had paid more than $100 in gas fees throughout his three-year tenure with the platform.

Several individuals have pointed out that the perception of this network’s image has evolved dramatically, from being hailed as an excellent L2 solution to being labeled as associated with ZKSync Scam.

Your layer 2 network is no longer the go-to option in the market. Instead, it is being widely criticized as a scam. Consequently, we will cease all transactions with your network and strive to undermine its reputation further. #ZksyncScandal #ZKsyncDeception

Why Is This ZK Airdrop So Significant?

As a researcher studying the blockchain ecosystem, I’m excited to share that the long-anticipated launch of the ZKSync token has finally taken place. The build-up to this event has generated significant buzz within the community. What makes this token particularly noteworthy for ZKSync users is its multiple features.

As a crypto investor, I’m excited to share that this platform offers more than just a list of features. Users have the unique ability to create Zero-Knowledge (ZK) offering staking functions through the governance-driven protocol. In simpler terms, this means we, as users, get to play an active role in shaping and interacting with the network. Therefore, it’s essential not to miss out on the opportunity to participate in the ZK airdrop – it’s a vital tool for coordination within our community.

Despite the excitement from users, the network’s decision to limit wallet distribution in rollups has been met with skepticism and criticism, earning it the label “ZKscam” by some. However, it’s important to note that the developers have clarified their reasoning behind this restriction.
