In Destiny 2, the Solo Operations playlist is an ideal spot for solo Guardian groups. This area offers a chance to boost power levels or experiment with different builds without requiring entry into public matchmaking queues. Additionally, it’s a fantastic place to gather loot. The missions here are typically quicker than those in Fireteam Operations and offer less challenge, especially when the appropriate modifiers are applied.
If you’re aiming to hit the highest Light level in Destiny 2, the Solo Operations playlist is a great launching pad. Fortunately, you can select which missions you take on here, and some are less challenging than others. This guide outlines the top two Solo Operations missions and offers advice for farming them more effectively.
Best Solo Missions for Power Grinding in Destiny 2
In Destiny 2, there are several Solo Ops missions, but two, specifically Caldera and K1 Logistics, are particularly easier and faster to accomplish. They have straightforward designs, making them quick to finish, often within 10 minutes, even on the harder difficulty settings. Efficient gameplay is key to completing these missions swiftly.
Caldera
It’s widely considered that this mission is ideal for earning rewards on your own within the game, since Caldera only has two tasks, which are relatively simple to accomplish. However, to complete the first objective swiftly, some strategic planning or efficient route-planning might be required.
As a gamer, I find that the opposing team in this game can shift occasionally, but the fundamental layout of the mission stays consistent.
- Sabotage three objectives.
- Defeat a boss.
In the initial phase, players must eliminate three targets that vary based on their opposing faction. For instance, if they’re battling against Vex, they should aim to destroy three dark matter cubes, whereas for Fallen, their focus is on taking out three supply depots. The order in which these objectives are destroyed doesn’t matter. Once completed, players should proceed to the next area following the given quest instructions.
In the Caldera mission, the boss you encounter varies based on the opposing faction. When battling against the Vex, a powerful Harpy will appear. On the other hand, if the enemy is the Fallen, players will face off against two Captains. To break the Harpy’s invincibility barrier, players must destroy the Vex data cubes that pop up in the area. In contrast, when the Fallen boss becomes invulnerable, players should focus on damaging the other boss.

K1 Logistics
The task at hand seems simpler and resembles a conventional raid, as you’ll predominantly be exploring a relatively compact lunar region (lost sector) for most of its span.
Much like Caldera, this mission has only two objectives:
- Secure objectives.
- Defeat a boss.
In this case, the task sequence is quite similar to that of Caldera, and your choice between the two mainly boils down to individual taste.
Thanks to how short these missions are, they are also great for farming event currencies.
