Battlefield 6 has made an impressive debut, drawing close to a million viewers as they watched streamers play the game. It’s clear that fans are eager to dive into it themselves, as evidenced by the massive queue for the Battlefield 6 beta reaching a staggering 48,000 at its peak. Yet, this doesn’t imply that every aspect of the game is flawless.
Battlefield 6 Players Don’t Like the New Class Icons
On Reddit, user Pawl_The_Cone has raised concerns about the class icons in the beta version of Battlefield 6, stating that they are confusing because they are too abstract. The icons, which resemble a triangle, hexagon, brackets, and a square, don’t seem to be strongly connected to the classes they represent, making it hard for players to quickly identify which icon corresponds to which class initially. For clarification, the triangle stands for Assault, the hexagon represents Engineer, the brackets signify Support, and the square is for Recon.
Many gamers have been puzzled as to why the icons for classes in Battlefield 6 are so hard to distinguish. Some feel it’s illogical that the Engineer class no longer uses a wrench, a symbol synonymous with engineers in numerous games and previously used in older Battlefield titles. Others criticize the likeness between Recon and Engineer icons, while some have even proposed their own alternative designs, which certain fans find preferable. One player admitted that they’ll eventually learn the new icons, but initially found it difficult to tell them apart, potentially causing issues for newcomers to the series. Others have humorously turned this confusion into a joke, suggesting that more “bridge class” players (referring to the Support class) are needed in their games.
Prior to the official release of Battlefield 6 on October 10, there’s uncertainty if the dev team will fix the class icon issue that fans have been pointing out for months.
