The following contains spoilers from the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga and anime.
As a die-hard fan, I’m beyond excited for the upcoming arc in Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle! The tension is palpable as our beloved Demon Slayer Corps gears up for an epic showdown against Muzan’s minions. The stakes have never been higher, and with the fate of the world hanging in the balance, every battle counts.
The Hashira, our series’ mightiest warriors, are ready to step into the fray and play a pivotal role in thwarting the Demon King’s nefarious schemes. I can hardly contain my anticipation for this emotional rollercoaster of an arc – it promises to be the most impactful installment yet!
Nonetheless, there are some Demon Slayers who have not yet reached the top rank within the Demon Slayer Corps, but they possess extraordinary abilities that could surpass expectations even against formidable demons. Their growth may be swift and dramatic, potentially playing a pivotal role in the ongoing battle between good and evil.
Underrated Demon Slayers Are Set to Make a Mark in Infinity Castle
Tanjiro, Inosuke, Kanao, and Doma Will Punch Above Their Weight as They Face Upper Moons
The Infinity Fortress serves as a multidimensional stronghold managed by Nakime, where Muzan Kibutsuji resides. This stronghold can be swiftly altered by the latest Upper Rank Four members, providing Muzan with a substantial edge in battle against the Demon Slayer Corps during an open conflict. After the surprise attack on Kibutsuji, the Demon Slayer Corps found themselves cornered within the Infinity Fortress, facing a tough task of overcoming Muzan’s minions before engaging the Demon King himself.
In simpler terms, Kanao Tsuyuri seems to express a belief that the people he cherishes will continue to live another day. However, he acknowledges this as a hope rather than a definite truth, and emphasizes that he cannot guarantee it with absolute certainty. One might wonder why people often hold onto such optimistic assumptions about life’s continuity.
Standing by, it’s clear that luck is on the side of the Demon Slayer Corps, having the Hashira – a formidable band of extraordinary swordsmen – at their disposal. These warriors can push past their physical constraints, making them formidable opponents even for the Upper Moons. Some among them have already shown signs of the Demon Slayer Mark, hinting at their readiness for an impending battle that could potentially resolve a centuries-old struggle between good and evil. However, despite their remarkable abilities, the Hashira are not fully prepared for what lies ahead. Upper Moons like Akaza, Doma, and Kokushibo possess powers to cheat death and even endure decapitation, making them formidable adversaries indeed.
Although the Hashira play a pivotal role in fighting Kibutsuji’s minions, they can’t achieve their full potential without the active involvement of the highly skilled young swordsmen from the Taisho Era, who are poised to make an impact within Infinity Castle. Since joining the Demon Slayer Corps, Kamado Tanjiro has been a key player in the battle against Muzan. He played a significant part in helping Muichiro Tokito and Mitsuri Kanroji perform at their peak by facilitating the creation of the Demon Slayer Mark in the Swordsmith Village. However, as he prepares to confront his arch-nemesis, Akaza, in an effort to avenge Kyojuro Rengoku, the high stakes and emotional burden may bring out Tanjiro’s best. As a result, he is expected to become a combatant that even the Hashira will find impressive.
In an intriguing twist, it’s not just Kamado who is set to experience a significant transformation during the fight in the Infinity Castle. Prior to being ensnared in the extradimensional space by Nakime alongside his comrades, Zenitsu had already chosen solitude. Now, fueled by a fierce thirst for vengeance against his old tormentor, Kaigaku, he’s determined to prove himself. Unlike his companions who will benefit from Demon Slayer Marks, Agatsuma will fight independently. This battle promises to mold him into a fighter he may never have imagined becoming, while unveiling hidden talents within him.

Beyond Zenitsu and Tanjiro, Inosuke also encounters a challenging situation as he battles Doma alongside Kanao Tsuyuri. They are the only two demon slayers who take on one of the top three demons of the Twelve Kizuki without a mark or the backing of a Hashira. What makes this battle intriguing is that it occurs under intense emotional circumstances. From start to finish, Kanao and Inosuke will be pushed to their limits. When all is said and done, they’ll leave everyone in awe.
What Makes Zenitsu, Inosuke, Tanjiro, and Kanao’s Roles so Important?
I, as an avid fan, find it fascinating that Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Kanao aren’t always given the same recognition as the Hashira. This is particularly noticeable in the case of Kanao, Zenitsu, and Inosuke, who unfortunately missed out on the battle in the Swordsmith Village when Tanjiro displayed his mark. During the epic clash at the Infinity Castle, it was anticipated that the Hashira would be the main powerhouses against Muzan’s minions. However, they would have been greatly overpowered had it not been for the courageous actions of lesser-known demon slayers like Zenitsu and others.
I stand by, watching these unacknowledged young warriors who, despite not receiving promotion as Hashira, are readied to engage in combat on par with Muzan’s subordinates. It is evident that they serve as the sturdy pillars, yet to receive formal recognition from the Demon Slayer Corps. If these valiant individuals had not partaken in the full-scale battle, our Demon Slayer Corps would have already succumbed, long before the fight even began.
On September 12, 2025, the initial part of the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle series will hit theaters in the U.S.
