In the past month, players of Cyberpunk 2077 received an unexpected treat with the emergence of update 2.3. This latest update introduced four new vehicles, a new AutoDrive feature, and enhancements to the game’s photo mode. The game keeps growing in interesting ways, and since the arrival of 2.3, many enthusiasts have expressed curiosity about the prospect of an upcoming 2.4 update.
While developer CD Projekt Red hasn’t explicitly stated a 2.4 update yet, given that they’re still releasing new content for the game even after suggesting support would decrease post-launch, it’s safe to say that a future update remains a possibility. We can only speculate about what a potential 2.4 update might offer players, but an influential mod could potentially enhance Cyberpunk 2077‘s realism even further.
A Viral Cyberpunk 2077 Mod Forces Players to Pay Rent
Making the Dystopian World of Night City Feel Even More Lifelike
- This mod is cheekily titled “Eviction Notice.”
- The mod was uploaded to Nexus Mods on August 8.
- Created by modder Dark Fortune Teller
As a fan myself, there’s nothing quite like being tangled up in the ruthless clutches of a money-grubbing landlord amidst a bustling city teeming with individuals just trying to keep their heads above water. This game mod might not be everyone’s cup of tea due to the additional pressure it brings, but for those craving an authentic Night City experience, Eviction Notice could serve as a fantastic enhancement that amplifies immersion.
The mod titled “Eviction Notice” immerses you into a realistic apartment rental system inside the game Cyberpunk 2077. To stay in the game, you’ll need to make regular rent payments to avoid late fees or eviction. As you progress through more than 450 new text messages, you’ll interact with diverse characters such as real estate agents, chatbots, and landlords. This mod adds a challenging layer of reality to the game, mirroring the struggle for survival in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe.
In Eviction Notice, players do not have to pay rent during Act 1 of the Main Quest.
The Perfect Way for Cyberpunk 2077 to Approach a New Game Plus Mode
Although “Cyberpunk 2077” offers many opportunities for repeat play, it currently lacks an official New Game Plus mode. Regrettably, it seems that such a feature may be unattainable due to the technical challenges involved, as acknowledged by Lead Quest Designer Pawel Sasko in an interview last year: “Creating a New Game Plus mode in a way that doesn’t disrupt the game’s structure is incredibly difficult.” Nevertheless, there remains a glimmer of hope that Sasko and other developers at CDPR might reconsider their stance on this matter.
If the team were to change direction and adopt New Game Plus in Cyberpunk 2077, considering Dark Fortune Teller’s Eviction Notice modification could provide an ideal means to elevate the game for players. Since there’s still potential for improvement within the RPG, introducing New Game Plus now might be a fantastic way to polish it before CDPR shifts focus to its successor.
Following the release of update 2.3, certain players of Cyberpunk 2077 suspect that fresh in-game advertisements for North Oak Casino & Country Club could be hinting at an upcoming update, version 2.4.
Cyberpunk 2077 Could Still Hold Surprises
There’s anticipation for potential further updates on Cyberpunk 2077 down the line, though we’ll have to wait and see if CDPR follows through. Given that they’re primarily engaged in creating The Witcher 4 and initiating pre-production for a sequel of Cyberpunk 2077, it’s possible that Update 2.3 might be one of the final ones. However, if additional updates are planned, the Eviction Notice mod could serve as an interesting source of inspiration.
