As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s upcoming expansion, Legacy of the Forge, is set to unveil an enticing new home customization feature! This captivating storyline revolves around rebuilding a once-legendary blacksmith’s workshop, a place where my father once honed his craft as an apprentice. Can’t wait to start forging my own legacy!
Due on September 9th, the expansion brings Henry of Skalitz back to Kuttenberg where he will endeavor to advance in the blacksmith guild. Unique blueprints for armor and weapons await him, though clients may present him with peculiar demands. However, a lingering feeling of inadequacy is inevitable, as the customization system offers over 136 million combinations, fueling the constant suspicion that one’s own creations are less than perfect.
Is my tone unnecessarily tired coming across? Apologies for any frustration, but it’s off-putting when Public Relations use the “XX million potential combinations” line (a little side note: I might have excitedly drafted similar claims in the past). To put it simply, just because I can hit myself 136 million ways while having dinner, Warhorse, that doesn’t mean I want to. Similarly, nobody is clamoring for a million unique versions of products, not even the Pokemon Company.
Based on my tough experience and the trailer I’ve seen, I’m convinced that about 120 million of those combinations will be impossible to tell apart. It’ll become a puzzle to shift mead cups slightly on tables to confuse the AI, as I foresee. Once they launch this DLC, someone (not me) might want to create all 136 million possible houses out of spite. This would make Kingdom: Come Deliverance 2 into an enormous game of “spot the difference.” Or maybe it’d be a mediieval take on Blue Prince, but with questionable quality.

The overabundance of house variations is more relatable when you consider that finding a safe place to sleep, rest and eat your vittles is one of Deliverance 2’s earlier challenges. There may indeed be 136 million places in pre-industrial Bohemia where it would be unsafe to sleep, even if the game permitted it.
In simpler terms, when not constructing homes and grappling with the feeling that there were countless other ways to approach things, you’ll find yourself exploring the new DLC reminiscing about friends of your late father. This journey could potentially reveal an aspect of his life that was previously unknown – a hidden part of his past. Essentially, it seems your father may have led a life as mysterious and colorful as Dorothy Draper in a 15th-century setting.
In this game, you’ll make fresh acquaintances and wield elegant swords, all while investigating how home decor impacts your skills. It seems like it could be quite entertaining overall. To be honest, I found the original game rather enjoyable. However, Deep Silver, please remember that I am a person of refined taste, so keep the talk about big numbers to a minimum.
