In a surprising turn of events, game developer Infold, known for its creation “Infinity Nikki”, has unveiled a partnership with the popular title “Stardew Valley”. While this announcement generally sparks excitement, the post revealing the collaboration has been flooded by “Infinity Nikki” players asking for an apology from Infold instead. They believe that the company is using this partnership as a way to silence criticisms and calls for more accountability.
Since version 1.5 of the game “Infinity Nikki” was launched, it has been embroiled in controversy. The new version significantly revamped the tutorial, discontinued a widely liked free 5-star set, and implemented a monetization system that made it challenging for free players to fully acquire dresses. Additionally, many bugs, login issues, and performance problems made the game nearly unplayable on specific platforms. This situation was further exacerbated by Infold’s decision to ban the term “boycott” on their social media channels, leading the community to counter with a “girlcott” protest instead.
Infinity Nikki x Stardew Valley Collab Revealed Amid Backlash
On August 20th, the authentic Infinity Nikki Twitter account unveiled a partnership with Stardew Valley, hinting at characters from the tranquil farming game crossing over to the universe of Infinity Nikki. The cooperation is planned for launch together with Infinity Nikki’s version 1.9 “Music Season” on September 1st (UTC-7). At this time, specifics about the type of collaboration, its details, and whether it will be integrated into Stardew Valley or remain exclusive to Infinity Nikki have yet to be disclosed.
It’s not shocking that the announcement of the Stardew Valley crossover was overshadowed by negative comments, most of which were unrelated to the collaboration itself. While some fans showed genuine enthusiasm about the two charming games joining forces, a large portion seemed displeased, claiming Inflow had “insulted” or “disrespected” the community. Despite Inflow’s apology to Infinity Nikki players for the issues in version 1.5, it seems many still demand more to make amends.

One reason the collaboration between Stardew Valley and Infinity Nikki may have turned sour is due to a recent tweet by Infold, where they asked players to report any leakers to official channels and cease consuming them. This seems to be in response to numerous Infinity Nikki leaks that have surfaced over the past year. Although an intolerance for leaks could be reasonable under different circumstances, the aggressive tone of the post, particularly the statement “Leaks are poison to all creation,” sparked a new wave of criticism from the community. This negative sentiment has carried over to the announcement of the collaboration.
