The Xbox Game Pass has officially announced that Tropico 7 will be available as a day-one release for its 2026 collection. This new installment in the 24-year-old series was recently unveiled, and subscribers of Xbox Game Pass can anticipate playing it on its launch date next year.
Tropico is generally considered one of the most beloved city-building game series. Its sixth edition, launched in 2019, has surpassed sales of over a million units and boasts a highly favorable Very Positive rating from users on Steam.
Xbox Game Pass Will Add Tropico 7 on Day One in 2026
The publisher, Kalypso Media, has confirmed that Tropico 7 will debut on Xbox Game Pass simultaneously in 2026. The game continues the storyline of El Presidente, similar to its predecessors, but with a fresh twist – the introduction of terraforming, enabling players to alter the world’s landscape.

While we don’t know exactly when Tropico 7 will be out, it’s been confirmed that it will debut first on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. A version for Nintendo Switch might follow later, as the publisher’s pattern suggests a possible delay after the initial launch. For instance, Tropico 6 didn’t arrive on Nintendo Switch until two years following its PC release.

One notable feature that makes Tropico 7 an enticing choice for Xbox Game Pass members is its high level of replay value. The developers have revealed that the seventh installment will offer 25 main and additional sandbox maps, along with a random map generator to ensure a never-ending supply of content. Tropico 7 aims to elevate both the military and political systems to deliver a more immersive city management experience for players. In terms of storyline, a new antagonist will challenge El Presidente, with Victoria Guerra confirmed as the primary antagonist in this upcoming version. However, details about her character are scarce beyond her name and appearance. Penultimo, a popular secondary character from the series, is also set to play a significant role, as hinted in the announcement trailer.
In addition to Tropico 7, High on Life 2 is another title set to debut on Game Pass simultaneously worldwide in February 2026. This announcement comes from Microsoft, who revealed that High on Life 2 will be available on Xbox Game Pass on its release day, tentatively scheduled for the 13th of February, 2026. Known for its sci-fi FPS format and comedic motif with talking weapons, High on Life previously joined Microsoft’s gaming service on two separate occasions, with its last addition occurring in July 2025.
