Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Adds 2 More Games to Its Roster

The Mortal Kombat Legacy Collection has officially added Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero and Mortal Kombat: Special Forces to its expanding collection of classic games. Ever since the collection was first announced, there’s been a lot of buzz surrounding it. Now, with these new additions, players are starting to get a clearer picture of what’s in store for them. While some aspects of Mortal Kombat Legacy Collection remain unknown, its list of confirmed games is steadily growing.

Fervent supporters of the Mortal Kombat franchise had been eagerly awaiting a compilation of its classic titles for quite some time before the announcement of the Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection. As far back as August 2024, whispers started to circulate that a remastered Mortal Kombat Trilogy was under development, fueled by leaked images and rumors. However, it wasn’t until the June 2025 Sony State of Play event that developer Digital Eclipse finally unveiled the Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection, and since then, more information has been disclosed.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Will Include Mythologies: Sub-Zero and Special Forces

During Gamescom 2025, Atari unveiled a new trailer for their upcoming ‘Legacy Kollection’, announcing that ‘Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero’ and ‘Mortal Kombat: Special Forces’ will be part of the collection. This revelation follows a leak about the ‘Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection’ where someone spotted the logos for these two games in a video playing at a Gamescom booth. It appears that the leaked footage was actually Atari’s official trailer, and the full version provides more details than the 13-second clip suggested.

Legacy Collection. Atari and Digital Eclipse have confirmed this. Alongside the original trilogy, players can look forward to sharpening their skills using the Fatality Trainer that teaches iconic finishing moves, playing against friends online, and even enjoying CRT filters and a music library for an added dose of nostalgia.

The trailer didn’t disclose a specific release date for the game “Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection”, despite earlier rumors suggesting it might be released on September 29. Instead, all we know is that the game will be coming out soon. Pre-orders for both physical and digital editions are available across all platforms, but there’s still no definitive date for when these orders will be shipped. However, whenever it does arrive, players can look forward to a wealth of content to enjoy.
