Approximately four years following a less-than-spectacular debut of Battlefield 2042, DICE along with other developers under the Battlefield Studios banner appear set for a strong return around 2025. This confidence is based on the exceptional results seen during the open beta tests of Battlefield 6 in August, which drew over half-a-million players concurrently on Steam at one instance. Now, it seems the developers are leveraging these sessions to enhance player experience in their forthcoming game by applying the lessons learned.
Battlefield 6 to Get a Multitude of Changes Based on Test Feedback
As a passionate Battlefield fan, I’m thrilled to share that the developers have unveiled an extensive overhaul for Battlefield 6! Based on valuable player feedback and game data, they are making several exciting adjustments. To enhance the gunplay experience and ensure consistency, they are introducing universal pass-on recoil and tap-fire attributes for all weapons. This shift towards controlled tap-firing and burst firing is designed to encourage more strategic play styles.
Additionally, the developers have proposed modifications for Time-to-Kill and Time-to-Death experiences, with more changes on the horizon. The M87A1 shotgun has also been tuned to demand more pellets for a kill. On the movement front, there are significant improvements, such as reduced momentum when transitioning from a slide to a jump, reduced jump height to combat jump spamming, and increased inaccuracy while firing during a jump or slide.
In essence, the developers are working tirelessly to create a more balanced and engaging Battlefield 6 experience!

Battlefield Studios acknowledged and addressed player concerns about the small maps used during the beta testing phase. They announced plans to release two larger maps, one modeled after Battlefield 3’s Operation Firestorm, in an upcoming private playtest. Notably, the game’s maps are being revised to restrict access to off-limits areas. Jumping into any map area has been streamlined with enhanced parachute control. Developers also disclosed that the maps and modes will not be fixed to a specific player count; instead, they will adapt based on feedback to provide an optimal gaming experience. As a result, the standard number of players for Rush mode has been reduced, focusing more on combat flow and preserving the popular mode’s strategic, deliberate gameplay.
