Demonschool Delayed to November Due To Silksong

Originally scheduled for release on September 3rd, 2025, the upcoming game “Demonschool” has now been postponed. This delay is partly due to the highly anticipated indie RPG titled “Hollow Knight: Silksong.” Developed by Necrosoft Games, this game has generated significant buzz since 2022 and was slated for release in just a few days. In fact, press members have already been provided with codes for the game.

Regrettably, the release of the game has been delayed due to several factors, one of which is quite significant.

If you’re not familiar with Demonschool, it’s a strategy RPG that resembles the early Persona games (1 and 2). Despite being in development for some time, it’s attracted notice due to its appealing 2D graphics and engaging gameplay. However, it seems that fans will have to wait longer than expected to play it next week.

Hollow Knight: Silksong’s Surprise Release Gets Blame for Demonschool’s Delay

According to a recent announcement by Ysbyrd Games, the release date for Demonschool has been pushed back from September 3rd to November 19th. This delay is due to the development team focusing on Hollow Knight: Silksong, which appears to be causing the shift in schedule.

After 11 years of experience in the independent publishing world, Ysbryd Games is well-positioned to suggest that by 2025, market conditions for game releases may be as challenging and harsh as they come. What makes this situation even more difficult is the recent news that Hollow Knight: Silksong will debut on the same day as our scheduled release for Demonschool, creating a tough competition just days before launch.

Our primary focus should be to increase awareness for Demonschool, so the Ysbryd team thinks it’s wiser to avoid areas that are clearly dangerous, such as the waters that are evidently blood red. If September is Silksong’s time to shine, then we should schedule Demonschool for a different time to ensure it has its own opportunity to be noticed and discussed significantly.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that Demon School has distributed codes for PC reviewers, meaning they can now immerse themselves in the game at their leisure. However, it’s worth noting that this is the fourth title that’s had to step aside due to the unexpected launch of Hollow Knight: Silksong. While it’s unclear if Silksong is entirely responsible for this, there’s no denying it’s caused a bit of a stir in the gaming world.
