Pokemon Legends: Z-A Possibly Teasing 2 More Mega Evolutions

It seems like Pokemon Legends Z-A could be hinting at the possibility of introducing more Mega Evolution Pokemon, perhaps even two new ones, in the coming days. The inclusion of Mega Evolution as a key feature for powering up Pokemon has been an exciting aspect of Pokemon Legends: Z-A so far. Given the anticipation surrounding this game, Game Freak could generate excitement by revealing more monsters that can utilize this powerful mechanic.

Information from leaks and announcements have indicated that there will be 26 Pokemon who have Mega Evolved in the game “Pokemon Legends: Z-A“. This is great news for players who own Mega Bracelets as they’ll have a variety of choices. The game was made official in February 2024, and since then, fans have been guessing which Pokemon might get new Mega Evolutions. However, the fan community has grown even more excited recently due to the official unveiling of some new Mega Evolved forms.

Pokemon That May Get Mega Evolutions in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

  • Hawlucha
  • Machamp

On August 28, starting at 9 AM EST / 6 AM PST, Pokemon Legends: Z-A is hosting a special YouTube premiere. The exact details of what will be unveiled during this event remain undisclosed, but an Instagram post promoting it features Machamp and Hawlucha engaged in a battle, with a flash of blue electricity between them. Notably, Machamp, a four-armed muscular monster, has been a consistent character in the series since its debut in Japan back in 1996, while Hawlucha, a luchador bird from Generation 6, gained prominence due to its unique Fighting-Flying dual type. This was the only such type until the introduction of Galarian Zapdos and Flamigo in Generations 8 and 9, respectively.

In the promotional artwork for Pokemon, neither Fighting-type Pokemon have undergone Mega Evolution in any prior games. However, fans are speculating that one or even both might be receiving an upgrade soon. The announcement doesn’t explicitly confirm this, but certain recent occurrences suggest it could be possible. For instance, last week saw the unveiling of Mega Victreebell in a couple of trailers, while the unique design of Mega Dragonite, which was revealed in late July, is still garnering mixed reactions.

Additionally, it’s worth considering that the debut event might feature something other than just new Mega Evolutions. Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen the unveiling of Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s 4-player Battle Club mode, the reintroduction of poison damage outside battles, a detailed look at the entire map of Lumiose City, and many more unexpected revelations. It’s likely that there are more surprises to come before the game’s release on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on October 16.
