Players Are Loving This New Co-Op Spider-Man Multiplayer Mod

A new co-op Spider-Man multiplayer Mod has been released for PC, and players can’t get enough.

The mod created by the ‘Spider-Man Multiplayer’ team has transformed Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) into a complete multiplayer adventure, where multiple players can join in on the fun. One video clip they shared online, which you can see below, has already been viewed over 1.3 million times. Enjoy!

At present, access to the mod is limited exclusively to individuals who support the Spider-Man Multiplayer project via their Patreon, with a monthly contribution of around £9.60 (including VAT).

Anticipating this, players have been vocally asking Insomniac to restart a multiplayer project they were previously developing, known as Spider-Man: The Great Web. However, unfortunately, it seems that the project was cancelled prior to March 2024 and only came to light after the significant data breach and hacking incident the studio encountered last year.

Currently, the Spider-Man Multiplayer Mod Discord boasts more than 11,000 members, with approximately 2000 of them actively participating.

It’s uncertain whether the multiplayer mode will become free or open to all, but here’s hoping Insomniac recognizes the popularity it’s gained and considers returning to its abandoned project.

In 2018, the first installment of the Marvel’s Spider-Man video game was released, and by February 2024, it had sold more than 50 million copies, as reported by Insomniac Games.
