In September, there are numerous highly anticipated releases, and Borderlands 4 is certainly among the most anticipated. If you’re curious to know if early access to the game is available before everyone else, here are the details for you.
Anticipation for Borderlands 4 was sparked during our hands-on preview at Gamescom, with Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford expressing optimism about the game’s potential success, estimating it could sell over 100 million units.
If you simply can’t wait to get your hands on Borderlands 4 and are wondering if there’s a chance to play it ahead of others, then we’ve got you covered with all the necessary information.
Can You Play Borderlands 4 With Early Access?
Sure thing!
“I’m sorry to disappoint you, but as of now, there are no early access opportunities available for Borderlands 4. This means that the official release date and time will be the same for everyone.”
In contrast to numerous other games that offer early access as a perk when you pre-order the pricier editions, neither the Deluxe Edition nor the Super Deluxe Edition of Borderlands 4 grants access ahead of time.
As a hardcore gamer, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the worldwide launch of Borderlands 4. But it seems like things aren’t quite as straightforward as we hoped – the game’s store listings hint that there’ll be a staggered release, meaning that depending on your location, the game might drop at midnight local time. That’s right, not everyone gets to jump in simultaneously. And unfortunately, Steam seems to be the one exception to this global rollout. So, it looks like I’ll have to keep an eye on my local clock to make sure I don’t miss out on the mayhem!
Is There Any Way to Play Borderlands 4 Early?
Even though there’s no official early access for Borderlands 4, you might be able to play it before others by setting an earlier time zone on your gaming console.
For Xbox gamers, it’s quite straightforward to take advantage of the New Zealand method. All they need to do is adjust their location settings and reboot their console. By doing so, players can enjoy Borderlands 4 as soon as it launches in New Zealand, which means they’ll get early access before the game’s release time in their respective time zones.
For PlayStation gamers, it’s possible to enjoy this method too, but keep in mind it may require extra effort and potentially higher costs. To access games early in New Zealand, you’ll need a New Zealand account and buy the game from their regional store. However, be aware that your saved progress might not transfer over to your primary account, so exercise caution.
Regrettably, PC gamers won’t benefit from the New Zealand time-release advantage that console users do. Instead, the Steam launch will happen simultaneously worldwide. On the positive note, this ensures all PC players will initiate gameplay at the same global time.
