The popular game, World of Tanks, has just launched update 2.0, marking it as the most significant update in the game’s history so far. In conjunction with the new release, the developers have unveiled a trailer that offers a sneak peek into the new content, enhanced features, and rewards now accessible to all players.
Under the banner of Wargaming, the game known as World of Tanks invites players to take control over a thousand modern and historical tanks, including the M1 Abrams and Sherman, utilized in World War II. This tactical MMO offers a variety of play modes, with Random Battles, Rush, Frontline offering 30v30 combat on expansive maps, and a battle royale mode featuring vehicles and custom enhancements as its highlights. - “Operation Boiling Point” sets the narrative backdrop for the arrival of Tier XI vehicles, where players can try three different Tier XI tanks on a brand-new battlefield.

- Heavier, more authentic tank sounds recorded from real vehicles, clearer combat audio and immersive soundscape that brings every battle to life.
- Rewards
- Veteran Commanders (joined before Update 2.0): will claim one full Tech Tree branch (Tier VI–X) and claim a massive resource pack with 2,500 Gold, 15,000 Bonds, 10 million Credits, 60 days of Premium Account, and more.
- New Recruits (joined after Update 2.0): will secure two full Tech Tree branches (Tier VI–X), three additional premium tanks, 60 days of Premium Account, 6 million credits and other bonuses to fuel their journey.
- Players who already own all Tier VI–X vehicles will receive exclusive rewards honoring their dedication. These gifts ensure every commander is battle-ready for the dawn of Tier XI.
On September 3, the 2.0 update for World of Tanks was launched, offering a fresh influx of content for enthusiasts to delve into. This update, showcased at Gamescom 2025, debuts 16 advanced-tier Tank XI models with distinctive features. Furthermore, the update includes a comprehensive overhaul of vehicle balance aimed at ensuring a more balanced and enjoyable gaming experience, regardless of the player’s tier. Enhanced matchmaking has been implemented post-update, featuring restrictions for tank destroyers and light tanks. Lastly, the Garage now boasts an upgraded interface that simplifies navigation and improves speed for World of Tanks players.
In addition to enhancing balance, matchmaking, and navigation features, World of Tanks is also rolling out content that extends beyond the latest armored vehicles. One of the standout additions is Operation Boiling Point, an immersive PvE mission driven by storytelling where players can collect rewards such as 2D styles, decals, emblems, and inscriptions. This mission unfolds on the Nordskar map, a new location set on a volcanic island base in Norway, which is also available in Random Battles. War game enthusiasts can explore Personal Missions 3.0 and Operations Room 2.0, with the latter offering an opportunity to tackle special missions, create a video chronicling their gaming journey, and much more.
