Hey there, fellow gamers! I’m pumped to share some exciting news with you all. Mark your calendars for September 9 because Bungie is hosting a preview event featuring a sneak peek at their Star Wars-inspired Renegades expansion for Destiny 2. That’s not all! The Ash & Iron expansion officially drops on the same day.
Now, I know things have been quiet in Destiny 2 since Edge of Fate and the Solstice event wrapped up, but get ready because fresh content is about to land on our gaming screens real soon. Let’s keep those gaming sessions exciting!
Before the release of The Edge of Fate, Bungie previewed a roadmap for Destiny 2’s Year of Prophecy, offering fans an in-depth glimpse into the schedule of content and anticipated updates. Although the frequency of major content releases was scaled back slightly compared to previous expansions, the Ash & Iron update serves as the midpoint of The Edge of Fate, introducing new content along with significant changes to the game’s environment. Interestingly enough, September 9 promises to be a significant day for Destiny 2 enthusiasts not just because of the update, but for other reasons as well.
Destiny 2 Renegades and Ash & Iron Update Reveal Stream Date and Time
- September 9 at 9am PT/12 ET
Bungie has announced that they’re hosting another Developer Livestream on September 9, just before the weekly reset in Destiny 2. The purpose of this stream is to unveil the first significant update for the game titled “The Edge of Fate: Ash & Iron.” Unlike past updates, Ash & Iron continues the narrative arc known as “Fate Saga,” which was introduced in the recent expansion. This update brings back the Plaguelands destination, a place we last saw in Destiny: Rise of Iron. Along with it, Ash & Iron will also introduce new features like the Reclaim activity and a major overhaul to the Sandbox, focusing on balancing gameplay elements.
In addition, there’s more exciting news for “Destiny 2” fans! The development team is planning to unveil a sneak peek of the upcoming expansion named Renegades. With its apparent inspiration from “Star Wars”, the expansion features elements reminiscent of the IP, such as a pistol resembling Han Solo’s DL-44 blaster and a Warlock wielding a sword styled after Lightsabers. Fans can look forward to learning more about the upcoming expansion when it launches in December.

Many enthusiasts might be eagerly awaiting more details about the direction of Destiny 2’s gameplay, particularly concerning the Portal. Recently, a stir has been caused within the community following Bungie’s announcement of adjustments to specific Destiny 2 activities, such as reducing the potent rewards for solo players in Operation Missions. The response to these changes has been quite critical, leading Bungie to reconsider them. Now, fans are keen to learn how Bungie intends to rectify the current power accumulation and reward system.
