After nearly a decade of anticipation, players have finally acquired Lost Soul Aside. The response has been diverse. On the positive side, Ultizero Games’ first production is being lauded for its intense, spectacular fight scenes and music. However, other elements like the storyline and voice acting have received considerable criticism.
Despite some areas needing improvement, it’s worth noting that Lost Soul Aside offers an enjoyable gameplay experience, although it can be too easy at times. The mechanic of staggering makes the player feel mighty, and Kaser’s swift, graceful melee moves are captivating. While style and charm might be lacking in several aspects, combat certainly isn’t one of them. Although it leans towards action gameplay rather than RPG, there’s still a hint of complexity to be found through skill trees, weapon enhancements, and the like. One character build even transforms Kaser into a character reminiscent of FromSoftware bosses, making players almost invincible.
Lost Soul Aside’s Burst Pursuit Moves Turn Players Into Brutal FromSoftware Bosses
Why Burst Pursuit Is the Ideal Lost Soul Aside Move for FromSoftware Fans
In the game Lost Soul Aside, Burst Pursuit refers to a specific type of attack where the player can initiate additional strikes automatically at certain points within a regular combo sequence. For example, during a basic light sword combo, players can time their R2 press correctly and watch as Kaser delivers a series of swift, ghostly slashes around himself. This rapid, dazzling, and undeniably stylish method of fighting is not only exciting but also recalls some of the most challenging boss battles created by FromSoftware.

Consider the case of Malenia from Elden Ring, for example. Her lethal Waterfowl Dance combination is already formidable, but she makes matters worse by finishing off with a lethal dome of incomprehensible slashes when players think they’ve won. Maliketh, the Black Blade and Promised Consort Radahn from Elden Ring also possess similar attacks that make them infamous. It is no surprise then, that these bosses are among the most notorious in not just Elden Ring, but FromSoftware’s history as a whole. However, in Lost Soul Aside, players can experience what it feels like to be on the receiving end of such formidable adversaries.

As a dedicated Elden Ring gamer, I’ve learned that by using certain Ashes of War, I can summon ghostly attacks. However, compared to the Burst Pursuit attacks in Lost Soul Aside, these ghost attacks feel less intuitive and certainly not overpowered. Lost Soul Aside manages to make players feel like they’re battling alongside these formidable bosses.
In Lost Soul Aside, by perfecting Burst Pursuit maneuvers, players can experience a similar sense of dominance as those infamous FromSoftware adversaries on the battlefield. What sets Lost Soul Aside apart from other action games is that these moves aren’t just pre-programmed; players must learn and execute their own attack sequences with precise timing. Unlike some games that automatically perform these moves, this adds a level of interaction and increases the skill required, creating a more immersive and challenging gameplay experience.

The game’s minimal RPG influences contribute to its simplicity, but don’t be fooled. In Lost Soul Aside, while the character build options aren’t extensive, players can customize their gaming experience by focusing on specific weapon skill trees and strategic use of certain items. For instance, players might decide to focus on Burst Pursuit skills, prioritizing them over others. Notably, some weapons like the basic sword offer more Burst Pursuit attacks than others, making them ideal choices for upgrades and weapon accessories if you’re aiming for this playstyle. Consequently, although there isn’t a vast array of progression options in Lost Soul Aside, you can still create a build centered around Burst Pursuits, transforming your character into a sort of mirror image of FromSoftware’s most challenging bosses.
