Following a brief two-day interruption, Rematch has undergone its third significant update, incorporating crossplay compatibility, new battle pass incentives, and a player reporting feature. Acclaimed by numerous players as one of the top sports games of 2025 to date, Rematch has captivated both soccer enthusiasts and casual spectators with its distinctive third-person rendition of the sport. By offering a novel on-field perspective and abandoning the magnetized ball control prevalent in larger soccer series for a more challenging, skill-oriented experience, it has proven itself to be an exciting departure from the norm.
As a dedicated fan of Rematch, I’ve noticed that since its massive launch in June, the developers at Sloclap have been consistently rolling out updates and patches to keep us gamers engaged. Although the game was already quite slick at release, they’ve been fine-tuning it over the past weeks and months, enhancing the skill-based gameplay of Rematch. Each significant update goes through a beta testing phase before getting rolled out across all platforms. This latest update stayed in beta for a bit longer than anticipated, but after thorough testing, Sloclap felt it was ready to hit the main stage!
The third significant update for the game “Rematch” has been released, introducing several key enhancements to the multiplayer soccer experience. Notably, players on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC can now engage in crossplay, enabling them to invite and collaborate with peers from other platforms during matches. However, it’s important to note that cross-progression is not yet a feature being developed for “Rematch”. Additionally, a player reporting system has been integrated into the game, allowing players to report any unsportsmanlike teammates or opponents to the developers. Moreover, five new “Endgame” battle pass rewards have been introduced, with the last reward requiring 150 tokens and only accessible for the most dedicated “Rematch” players.

Absolutely, this latest update includes a host of gameplay enhancements, including tweaks related to the Rematch’s Extra Effort boost function. This feature allows players to swiftly deplete their stamina bar for an additional burst of speed. Previously identified issues with ball control and animations during Extra Effort usage have been rectified. Additionally, Sloclap has introduced a new camera lock setting especially for controller users. With this setting, the camera remains stationary at the start of a shot at the net, preventing any movements or adjustments while the ball is kicked. This is a feature that was initially designed for mouse and keyboard users, but will now be available on controllers as well, benefiting players who tend to overly manipulate their aim stick when setting up shots.

While it’s exciting to observe the new features and upgrades in the game Rematch, there have been widespread issues with achievements not functioning correctly for Xbox players. Sloclap has acknowledged these ongoing achievement problems and is preparing their fourth major update for mid-September, aimed at addressing these issues. Notably, this same period also marks the start of Season 1 for Rematch. Fans are encouraged to keep an eye on Sloclab’s social media channels in the coming weeks for more updates.

Mouse and Keyboard Settings
At last, you can find the mouse and key press direction setting. This feature enables you to alternate among three distinct options for aiming using taps, lobs, or volleys. The available choices are as follows:
1. Tap Aim Option
2. Lob Aim Option
3. Volley Aim Option
Or in a more conversational tone:
Great news! We’ve added the mouse and key press direction setting that lets you switch between three different aiming methods – tapping, lobbing, or volleying with your actions. Here are the options you can choose from:
1. Tap Aim Option
2. Lob Aim Option
3. Volley Aim Option
- Joystick Emulation: the default system that locks the camera and requires the player to move the mouse in a joystick-like manner.
- Two new sensitivity settings are available when using this mode: Smooth Correction Speed and Smooth Correction Range.
- Directional aiming: aim with the crosshair if there are no movement inputs pressed, or if the forward input is pressed. Otherwise, aim with the movement inputs (what is colloquially known as “WASD aiming”, which was used in the first pre-launch Beta)
- Crosshair-only: aim with the crosshair only.
