The game “Overwatch 2” has implemented a balance update focusing on the map “Stadium”. This update includes boosting the power of Orisa, weakening D.Va, Junker Queen, and Pharah, and making adjustments for both Brigitte. Additionally, there are some bug fixes and changes to rank loss in Stadium that are now active in “Overwatch 2”.
The eighteenth season of Overwatch 2 commenced on August 26th, marking significant updates within the game. In the main Overwatch 2, a new support character named Wuyang was introduced, as well as an overhaul of the Perks system. Additionally, the Stadium game mode welcomed the Payload Race mode and added three heroes: Winston, Pharah, and Brigitte.
Approximately a week and a half post its main launch, Overwatch 2 has rolled out a minor update that includes balance tweaks, particularly for Stadium. This patch has been quite beneficial for Orisa as her Refraction Tiles Item now reduces beam damage by 75% while using Javelin Spin, an improvement from the previous 50%. Similarly, Brigitte, the latest support character, has seen an expansion in the range of her healing with Righteous Cleave Power, which now extends from 5 meters to 10.

Unfortunately, some hero abilities and items were weakened in the latest update for Overwatch 2. For instance, Pharah’s Recursion Batter Power, Blitz Barrage Power, and Overcharged Ordnance Item have been reduced. Similarly, D.Va’s Facetanking Power and Multitask-Mod Item have been toned down. Moreover, the Junker Queen’s Royal Bullets Power has also been affected. Lastly, Brigitte’s Scavenged Steel Item got a nerf to keep her Righteous Cleave buff in check.

Apart from tweaking the balance, there were several other alterations to Overwatch 2 as part of this update. Notably, Stadium matches will now consider victorious rounds when calculating lost Stadium Points or earned Competitive Points after a defeat in Competitive Stadium. This change aims to make defeats less harsh and more rewarding for players who show resilience throughout the multi-round battle.
In Overwatch 2 currently, there are three ongoing events:
1. A re-run of the Cowboy Bebop collaboration event, which will last until September 9.
2. The Summer Games 2025 and Play Like Luka events, both of which will conclude on September 16.
3. Participating in these in-game challenges offers players a plethora of rewards, such as the Ein Wrecking Ball skin, new sprays and Player Icons featuring characters like Hazard, Juno, Freya, and Wuyang, along with 77 Loot Boxes in Overwatch 2.
4. Notably, Junkrat’s Loot Hunt is making a comeback from September 12-14, providing an opportunity for fans to amass nine additional Loot Boxes for their collections.

Stadium Updates
Loser Consolation
- When a player loses a Competitive game, each individual round that a player wins now reduces the total amount of Stadium Points lost and grants Competitive Points.
- Disabled at All-Star and Legend leagues.
TANK
D.Va
The initial strength of D.Va’s weapon, which is boosted by a cheap epic that increases its power by 20%, is giving her an unfair advantage in the early stages of the game. This allows her to eliminate enemies too quickly and gain an advantage before other players catch up. Also, D.Va’s tank build provides more durability than usual for tanks. This update aims to adjust both the effectiveness of her initial weapon power increase and the survivability of her tank builds so that they align better with the game’s intended balance.
- Facetanking – Power
- Healing decreased to 30% (Down from 40%).
- Multitask-Mod – Epic Weapon Hero Item
- Weapon power decreased to 10% (Down from 20%).
Junker Queen
Revised Comment: The Developer Notes indicate that Royal Bullets is dominating fights excessively, needing very little preparation to hit targets. This adjustment maintains its quick and gratifying feel, yet prevents it from being the best option in all game builds.
- Royal Bullets – Power
- Damage decreased to 40 (Down from 50).
Orisa
Update Notes: Orisa struggled to maintain her position against opponents with heavy beam attacks, such as Zarya. This modification provides her with a more robust response, allowing her to endure beams for a longer duration and fortify the front line.
- Refraction Tiles – Rare Survival Hero Item
- Damage reduction increased to 75% (Up from 50%).
DAMAGE
Pharah
Developer Note: Currently, Pharah’s mini rocket barrage is dealing excessive damage, annihilating teams without warning. To balance this, we are making an initial adjustment to reduce the intensity of the burst damage while maintaining the thrill of the build. More fine-tuning will be made in upcoming updates for a better gameplay experience.
- Recursion Battery – Power
- Lifesteal decreased to 25% (Down from 50%).
- Blitz Barrage – Power
- Rocket number reduction increased to 75% (Up from 60%).
- Overcharged Ordnance – Rare Ability Hero Item
- Cost increased to 5500 (Up from 4000).
SUPPORT
Brigitte
Revised Statement: The developers have made adjustments to Scavenged Steel, aiming to reduce the frequency of Rallies for a better balance in gameplay. This change allows for more chances to strategize against her in combat. Additionally, the dependability of Brigitte’s healing power when using her weapon build has been slightly improved.
- Righteous Cleave – Power
- Healing Range increased to 10m (Up from 5m).
- Scavenged Steel – Epic Ability Hero Item
- No longer grants Ultimate Charge while Rally is active.
Bug Fixes
- Stadium
- Brigitte
- Fixed an issue where repeatedly pressing Shield Bash after casting would grant multiple On Ability Triggers.
- Junkrat
- Fixed an issue where Junkrat’s Concussion Mine wasn’t properly scaling with Ability Power.
- Items
- Fixed an issue where Amari’s Antidote was working on all Healing instead of just Weapon Healing.
- Fixed an issue where Divine Intervention was also working on self damage from removing Overhealth.
- Fixed an issue where Ogundimu Reduction Field was not properly interacting with Nebula Conduit’s self damage.
- Brigitte
