In the game called Silksong, there are more than 40 supervisors, however, it’s not necessary for players to defeat all of them to finish the game. Some optional bosses can even be quite challenging, especially if you attempt to face them before you’re ready.
In the opening stages of “Silksong,” you’ll encounter an optional challenge known as the Savage Beastfly boss. This guide offers valuable insights on locating this formidable foe, understanding its attack patterns, and securing the rewards that come with defeating the Savage Beastfly in “Silksong.
Savage Beastfly Location
Chapel of the Beast, Hunter’s March
To reach the Savage Beastfly in the game Silksong, players initially need to gain entry to Hunter’s March by overcoming the Skarrguard, which are found above Grindle’s prison structure, located on the zone’s far right. Beyond several rooms containing Skarr Ant adversaries, tricky jumps, and lethal spikes, you’ll eventually find The Chapel of the Beast at the end of the Hunter’s March zone, situated on the extreme right side.
In the game Silksong, the Beastfly is generally considered as an optional boss, but defeating it offers such a substantial reward that it’s worth attempting early on in the game. However, if you find this boss too difficult at your current level, simply mark its location using a Shell Marker for future reference, and come back to fight it later when you have increased HP, a more powerful needle, and a broader range of abilities under your belt.
Closest Bench & Optimal Runback Route to Savage Beastfly

At the highest part of Hunter’s March, near an air vent ascending above, you’ll spot a damaged sign guiding leftwards towards a room. Inside this room, you’ll find a trapped bench. To access a hidden chamber, go to the room on the left of the bench, then pull the lever to disarm the trap, allowing you to safely sit on the bench.
The quickest and secure path to the Chapel of the Beast is by moving right from this bench, descending into the air vent room, and subsequently gliding with the Drifter’s Cloak into the bottom-right entrance of the tall room. After that, use the Swift Step ability to swiftly leap across the long room – clear the trap and avoid Skarr enemy located approximately halfway through.
Ultimately, ascend through the air duct to get to the Chapel of the Beast’s entrance. By activating a lever in a room filled with successive enemy waves further inside the chapel, you can unlock a secret passage leading directly to the Boss room.

How To Beat The Savage Beastfly in Silksong
The Savage Beastfly goes through two stages. During its initial stage, it may either pursue you across the room or rush along the floor.
Once you’ve inflicted sufficient harm on the Beastfly, it will let out a fierce roar, summoning additional Fly enemies to assist. This marks the start of the second phase in the Savage Beastfly boss battle, during which it acquires a powerful Triple Slam attack.
In the game ‘Hollow Knight: Silksong’, players need to strategize and survive by taking moments to recover health during combat, maneuvering carefully within the confined boss arena to dodge various adversaries, and seizing fleeting chances to strike back against the Savage Beastfly.
- After the boss performs a Low Charge attack, jump into the air for a good opportunity to Bind. Be quick, though, as the boss usually follows up a Low Charge with a mid-air Targeted Charge.
- After you stagger the boss once, it will roar and summon multiple allies to its side. During this phase, when the boss performs its Triple Slam, aim it above its allies to make it destroy them with its own attacks.
- The best opportunities to attack the Savage Beastfly are during its Slam, Targeted Charge, and Roar attacks. With good timing, you can hit the boss twice as it resets between each slam, twice as it flies over Hornet’s head, and about four times during its Roar.

Summon Ally (Roar) | Stops in mid-air and roars, giving Hornet a brief window to attack. | Watch for where the cages will fall from the ceiling and dodge out of the way. Enemies that can be spawned with this attack include: Mawlings: ground enemies that extend spikes when threatened Beastflies: flying enemies that periodically charge at Hornet Vicious Caranid: large flying enemy with a sharp stinger that slashes for close-range AoE damage When the Savage Beastfly performs its Triple Slam attack, aim it above these enemies. When the boss slams down, it will kill its own summons if they are beneath it, making this portion of the fight significantly easier. |
Tips to Beat the Savage Beastfly
- Stay aggressive as you fight the Savage Beastfly. If you stagger it right before a Roar, it won’t be able to summon allies.
- During a stagger, you can get about three or four hits in, depending on how close you are to the boss when it triggers.
- This is also an excellent opportunity to Bind and heal if you are low on HP.
- Equip the Warding Bell, a blue Tool that prevents Hornet from taking damage while using her Bind skill.
- Bring either the Straight Pin or Sting Shard to this fight to help clear summons faster.
Reward for Beating the Savage Beastfly Boss

Upon overcoming the fearsome Beastfly, players of Silksong can unlock one of the three Crests available within the game. Each Chapel carries a name that corresponds to these Crests, and by successfully defeating the Savage Beastfly, you’ll earn the Beast Crest as your reward for completing the Chapel of the Beast.

In the game named “Silksong”, the Crests modify Hornet’s combat abilities and enable her to attach various tools and skills into distinct arrangements. By default, a Crest has three color-coded slots – red, yellow, and blue.
The Beast Crest comes with two default red Tool slots, making it one slot less than any other Crest in Silksong. Yet, this Crest bestows Hornet with a remarkably potent ability each time she employs the Bind skill.
Equipping the Beast Crest allows Hornet to enter a furious state, boosting the power of her attacks and restoring her health with each strike.
When the Beast Crest is active, Hornet will perform a close-quarters claw swipe in place of her usual mid-range needle attack. Moreover, instead of her standard aerial downward strike, she’ll execute a spinning move with a somewhat horizontal path instead.
